    The Pixies

Anyone else heading to the Pixies gigs at the Olympia?

I'm heading on Wednesday and I've always anticipated that the Pixies in a small venue like this should be amazing.

Wish I could afford to go. Buying tickets for my sister to see them and taking my youngest to Greenday has wiped out my party budget for the month. Oh well.

    Yeah, unlucky there, folks.

I was blessed - my brother played a blinder in nabbing two tickets earlier this week at face value.

Great band, great venue - can't wait.

Going on wednesday as well. Anyone recommend a good parking spot reasonably located?

Coming in from Limerick direction and driving back that night.

Temple Bar Multi-Storey Car park could be a possible option, Lionel.

Roughly a 10 minute walk away from the Olympia if you cut through the side streets of Temple Bar onto Dame Street.

I've parked in Drury Street before for the Olympia, as it used to have an evening rate. Stephens Green/ Royal College of Surgeons definitely does a night rate of €5.50 (which you prepay when you arrive) if you don't mind a bit of a walk (5-10 minutes).

I think there's one in Christchurch, but no idea on prices or location (wrong side of the city for me). Probably handiest from Limerick direction?

I'm going on Thursday.. I know they're going to play all of Doolittle but has anyone else any other idea what they'll play? B-sides from the Doolittle singles maybe?

Depends on time of gig if you can park at Christchurch. Thats where I usually park going to Olympia but it closes at midnight so no good if its a midnight gig. or sometimes I park at the Oliver St John Gogarty car park. Its fairly handy too.

    Doolittle and B-sides apparently.

Might throw in a few others for good measure?

Thanks folks. The only other suggestion i've had is to use the free park and ride out at the red cow and get the luas in? Sounds like a bit of a spin.

Was at it myself last night.
    really good gig.
It was great to see them in the Olympia. Thought they could have taken it up another notch by adding a few more songs onto the encore. 1hr10mins just felt that bit short...

    Really enjoyed it though

Went to the Wednesday and Thursday gigs. Joey's guitar-playing on Silver was amazing at the first gig. Ace to hear Manta Ray and Bailey's Walk as well.

I managed to get autographs of BF and Joey last night, along with some photos with the latter.

I was at last night's gig. What a show! Way better than the two outdoor ones I seen in the past few years.. Weird at my School a definite highlight for me.

Laura just text me thanking me for the best gig of her life. Was chuffed until I remembered she is only 18 so has many more amazing gigs ahead!

Thank you Lionel for giving her such a great night!
