Being honest the club will not fill 3500 for games bar the odd one or two so no point in having any more than 3500 imo.
Totally agreed with that, no point in havinga 6 or 7 thousand all seater, not a hope in hell of filling it every week. If we could fill 3500 every home game im sure the club would be just delighted !

Anyway, if crowds do ever out number seats there looks to be room to extend at the car park end so there is scope for future development

Roo, is it all-seater stadium? hard to make it out. Also will there be only one covered stand? i really hope not!!!
Agree about the attendances and the capacity of the stadium, but with having a small car park down the training pitch end at least there is room to expand if ever needed. also dont like seeing the camera gantry on the main stand. would much prefer the camera to face the main stand!

    Foot.ie!

The Plans for the pitch aren't as detailed because the club are concentrating on getting the plans for the Shopping development passed firstly. So I wouldn't be looking too much into the picture of the model.

The TV Gantry will always be on the side that it is on and will always be facing the home stand. This is standard practice in Leagues worldwide. Maybe the modelmaker isn't too big into his football!

Obviously they are thinking of getting rid of the circus stand and getting in a more permanent structure and also the way forward for all new stadiums would be to go to an all seater alternative, all covered.

Our biggest League gate in recent years was against Shamrock Rovers on good Friday about 3 years ago, the place was jammers and there was only 3,000 at it.
The capacity looks a little light but beggars cannot be choosers and anything that improves facilities has got to be welcomed. The Club don't seem to have the money to do anything themselves so if they can get somebody to do it, great. We just cannot stay the way we are as the ground is fallng down around us it looks so delapidated. It wil be good for the Town and for us supporters but when will it happen, does anybody have a time scale for it?

I no what you mean we dont need more than 3500 because we dont get the crowds, but would it not be better having more if we need, is not better then having it there rather than wanting it built in the future..

Whats there to say if we get a nice new ground it wont be full everyweek like rovers, there crowds were shocking until they got a new ground and it would be great to have a decent capacity for underage internationals and high profile friendly games.

I know the picture on here does not represent the stadium side of things just the retail outlets and I wonder should it all be planned out from the start with everything involved..

Ideally I'd want a capacity of about 4000 with potential for expansion. We're not going to expand the fan-base if we only have capacity for the same 1000 odd people who turn up every week as it is. Obviously we don't need a 30 000 all-seater with an on-site casino to indulge Dave O'Neill's high-rolling gambling addiction, but I'd like to have a compact stadium to which people could take their friends, buy some decent food, and have a good evening out, without being rained on or having a wall fall on them.

I hope it's done right and if completed is focused more on the sporting side of things than the retail. I realise the current model doesn't represent the stadium as it will look like, there would be no point in doint the development if that was the case. I think 3,500 covered seats is perfect as it covers the minimum requirement to play games in european qualifying rounds, but it must be ensured they are covered otherwise it'd be silly to fall just short of whats needed. Any idea when a plan of the ground will be available? I think this development is necessary where else in a recession could we get the funds to do something like this, but we as the fans must ensure the club is looked after.

How about a team that can play football instead of that crap we saw again last night....

Hopefully if anything comes from this the first thing they do is move the floodlights behind the stand. The things are a fcuking curse
I'd love to invent a time machine then go back in time and win the lottery, buy new players and a stadium. Time machines are brilliant aren't they- Ian Holloway

Exactly, there's a lovely scale model of that 'development' gathering dust down there already...
