I can't understand how that happened? Hopefully everyone will be OK, looks very nasty for the Luas driver in particular.
Big crash between a Dublin Bus and the Luas on O'Connell Street. Just got a text off my brother, he was in front of the bus and was missed by seconds.

My brother said the light was green in his and the bus's favour so he reckons it could be a signal fault or something. That or terrorists playing with the lights.

Was your brother on the actual bus that was hit or a bus in front of it? I'd say he got a fair shock either way.

He was on his bike just directly in front of the bus. The LUAS missed him by one or two seconds apparently, he's a bit shook up and straight off to the off licence!.

That looks horrific. Derailed the tram.Originally Posted by passinginterest

I've always said that Dublin's different transport systems should be integrated, but this is ridiculous.

Where abouts was it?Near Supermacs?
The front of the Luas was inside the bus! Can't believe no one was killed.

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
According to CIÉ, the bus had the green light. http://www.rte.ie/news/2009/0917/luas.html
You heard it here first. CIE are now looking into my terrorists suggestion.
