Aside from the whole Magnier thing, which has them frantic at the possibility of their club being sold (anyone remember the "our club is not for sale" signs, the day before Magnier and some American bloke both increased their shares!), Man U fans are less than happy at the team at the moment. I looked at one forum only to find a thread called Mass merged doom and panic post loss/ our defense is crap thread!!
The only thing is, O'Shea is helping stink up that defense![]()

God's sake lad, you can't say that about the biggest plc in the world, sorry football club.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
I just feel sorry for the poor horse, mr Davros i have been to an 1860 munich game once, but i'd hardly call myself a fan.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
It would be nice to see some Irish man united fan's take a look @ the present situation and see that all their doing is supporting and bankrolling a soap opera where one bunch of millionare's are fighting with another over such thing's as a poor horse etc.
Maybe if they went out watched a local team instead of spending their money on a foreign plc the local team's may have a chance of getting decent run's in europe and also more player's like Glen Crowe breaking into the national team, plus they'd be watching a football match not helping to bankroll a soap opera.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
The whole united thing has become a joke with the horse racing boys and your man fergie the main comedians in it.I'm fed up of reading about the stupid fiasco.
One thing I have noticed is the way the man u fans have started saying 'its over' after one defeat to middlesboro. The defence is a disaster since the junkie was banned but this is manchester united we're taking about.Five smelly points behind with 12 or 13 games to play and they're packing it in.Just wait until they beat Arsenal at Highbury and they'll all be saying how they knew they'd come back.
The only one that's coming out of this with any credit is the poor ould horse.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
I saw a vox pops of Manchester based Man U fans on Sky News last week and some of them made comments bordering on the racist towards Magnier and McManus. I've also read the whole thing has stirred up some pretty nasty anti-Irish sentiment among Man U fans, which is sad but vaguely understandable.
While I'm sure the majority of Utd fans don't have any truck with these sentiments, I wonder if some of the anti-Irish vitriol being poured out is shocking the Irish fans who claim they are "United through and through".
Maybe you should put her on a leash, agent-man.
About ten year's ago when Steve Bruce said he had an Irish grandmother i managed to get hold of a copy of the man united fanzine red issue were i'd heard there was a page slagging off the Ireland team in responce to Bruce saying he'd like to play for Ireland.
It had a p*** take of the fai crest a set of welly boots and a shovel was the crest and had a list of question's for any one interested in playing for Ireland that consisted of do you have a low iq, do you have a red face, do you have a large family and a load of other b****x question's.
Had this come from someone like a chelsea fanzine or some other club's with fan's with racist link's i would'nt have been all that surprised, but for a club that happily take's million's of pound's each year off it's Irish fan's who have now apparently got writer's from the red issue writing in the match day programe was shocking.
If people want to come over here week after week following english club's that's their choice, but the fact remain's their english club's not Irish club's and not everyone is going to welcome you with open arm's,( but they do welcome yer wallet) even Man united.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
I'm a Man Utd fan, doesn't make me less of a CCFC/EL supporter. Not all of us buy into the PLC, most of us (as can be seen by the actions of Fan's United) are openly opposed to the 'City' involvement in the day to day running of the club.Originally posted by sylvo
......Maybe if they went out watched a local team instead of spending their money on a foreign plc the local team's.......
More to do with how good Arsenal are and United's conceding ten goals in four games. No-one's really giving it up thoughOriginally posted by DolansWaistcoat

Fans don't like the PLC/Suits side. The recent off-0field activities were embarassing. Fan's anger is well directed though. There may be some anti-irish rubbish, but scratch the surface, mention Keano and you'll see it's very much directed solely at Magnier and McManus.Originally posted by NigeSausagepump

All tongue in cheek sylvo, nature of a fanzine. The FAI's 'do you own an Irish setter? then come play for us!' recruitment drive in the Charlton era was a joke.Originally posted by sylvo

We were fair game for that kind of send-up, it's only natural that the writer would cling to Stereotypes.
Not for one minute am I insinuating that supporting Man united make's you any less a ccfc/el fan, and i know that we did'nt help ourselves sometime's with comment's like Jack Charlton's one after we'd just drew with Northern Ireland in 93 when he said ''any player who has not played for any country check yer family tree and see if you've any Irish realation's'', not very helpful comment's like that.
When it come's to racism Man united would be the last club you'd look @, especilly when you look @ the record of some other english club's, and i understand that the overwhelming majorty of fan's cannot be blamed for the uttering's of a fanzine.
Like you said a fanzine is to be tongue in cheek and to add a satirical look @ football, But not to come out with a rant that was on par with the sun newspaper rant's and cartoon's in the day's when it was depicting us as public enemy number one and a people to hate. That just further made my mind up way i just watch English football on tv and never support a team.
I know this was an isloalted incident but when your speaking as an unoffical vioce to the fan's it's not the most cleverest thing to come out with a racist rant about a people who put a hell of a lot of money into that club as well as being the club supported by the majorty of Manchester's large Irish community.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
Yeah, that's a fair enough point.Originally posted by sylvo

I'd hope it was silly rather than intentional though. There are certain Salford based fans for whom Man Utd happens to be their local team, among small pockets that are openly hostile to any 'outside' fans. Which is understandable I guess if you've lived by OT all your life and can't get a ticket.
Very true tiktok, I'm mate's with a lot of Arsenal fan's and they say the very same thing about highbury and the way thing's have gone on there like pricing the fan's who have been going for year's out of the game.

Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........
LOL, the funniest rant I've read in a long time...... It's a fanzine ffs, and an extremely funny one at that (so I don't know what that's got to do with the club itself)... I'd be surprised if any of them write for the programme, but then I don't know anyone who goes regularly that buys the programme in the first place.... Muppets get abused at United games, mainly for being Johnny Come Lately's, and Out of Town fans that have latched on since 1993..... You answer you're own question in way - the club seems to actively welcome OOT's at the expense of local fans, that is why there is sometime's problems with one game dicks... One article, in one fanzine, now makes United a racist club? Can we get a Wánker smiley like the Pats MB?Originally posted by sylvo

If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
OOT's are more profitable than local supporters.
If United are lucky the local might splash out 3 quid on a meat and potato pie. Meanwhile, OOT flies Ryanair, stays in three star hotel, buys replica shirt/bed linen from official store, visits museum/stadium tour. That keeps the airport, tourist industry and football club very happy.

That doesn't change the fact that OT would be a better place with 67k odd singing and chanting, which it would be if more local fans could get tickets, or even afford them.
