    Even Platini is saying it....

From the Sun (I know, I know but it's relevent):

Michel Platini's plan to make clubs live within their means was approved by UEFA yesterday.
Dubbed "financial fair play" the new rules from 2012 will ban sides from spending more than they make from their revenues.
It aims to end the trend of rich owners buying into the game and transforming the fortunes of a club.
UEFA President Platini said "We don't want to kill or hurt the clubs, on the contrary we want to help them in the market.
"The teams who play in our tournaments have all agreed to our principles."
UEFA General secretary Gianni Infantino said more than 50 per cent of sides lose money each year.
He said "It's a negative spiral. We needed to take control once again. Debt per se, is not negative. The moment where you can't finance the debt is the problem."
I know it's aimed at the Real Madrids, Chelsea's and Man City's of this world but, could this ruling have an effect on our league or will UEFA or the FAI for that matter, even give a flying fig if LOI clubs are not compliant.

Would this end situations like Cork and Drogheda have found themselves in where they were bank-rolled for a while and when the investors didn't get what they thought they bailed leaving the clubs in huge debt?

Given UEFA were very impressed by the LOI 65% when they assessed it last year, I wouldn't hold my breath.

There's a bit in Platini's plans which mean it's only for clubs above a certain turnover. I don't know what that figure is, but I imagine it's higher than the LoI. So it appears we're exempt from the current bit anyways.

Maybe, but the cap could also be quite low, to cover for the situation of, say, your local community club taking out a loan to pay for a new clubhouse. It could be so low as to not affect professional or semi-pro clubs at all.

I'd say this only covers clubs who can qualify for European competition, which would be senior teams. (But that's just a guess).

On that basis, I can't see an LoI club being above the threshold.

Are you mad, man? He'd clearly be the team's official hairstylist.
