U17's Womens World Cup
Ireland 3-0 Ghana
This morning is a very special and proud day for our club as in the late hours of last night the Irish girls qualified for the quarter-finals of the competation witha great victory over Ghana. A great free from Cambell in the first half from way out on the sideline and one from Donnely capilising on a Ghana defense mistake, Ireland led 2-0 at the break. But it was in the second half that was special for the club and her family when Aileen Gilroy from the club scored a from a piledriver to secure a 3-0 victory and top spot in there group thus avoiding old enemies Spain who beat them in the European final. The quarter-final against Japan is on Friday night, it will be either at 9 PM or 12 midnight. I expect that it will be shown on Eurosport live as they showed matches yesterday. If RTE was any good they should the match live.
Quarter Final match of the Girls World Cup will be shown on RTE tomorrow night.
Is there much interest amongst clubs to enter a team into the Masters League after the success of last season's league?
[QUOTE=juan pablo;1401424]Quarter Final match of the Girls World Cup will be shown on RTE tomorrow night.
That is not quite correct its not shown live on RTE television, its beign shown on RTE.ie on broadband, which shows RTE total disrespect for these wonderfull girls. It will be shown on Eurosport only on the television, Kick OFF: 12 MIDNIGHT
Apologies, i must have picked it up wrong when i heard it on 2fm.
What game did McGrath end up doing, does anybody know?
I'm not actually sure, but I noticed on the highlights that an Irish ref became the first one to ref in a champions league match last night. I presume Damian McGrath was part of that team. Cant remember the fixture though.
Was there not to be a full list of fai cup fixtures in Mayo this weekend? For example where Boro not down to play Urlar?
It was FAI 1st round, there was only 2 games, most teams got bye to the 2nd round
Fahy 2-1 Crossmolina (Could've been 5-1)
Moy Villa 4-3 Swiford (Shock)
The Jimmy Kelleghan mentioned in sinabhuil's note was a brilliant player. He died in a tragic motor accident in the 1980s
wonder if all the clubs at the mayo league agm said they dont want 8 teams divisions what would happen
You would like to think they would listen to reason and scrap this idiotic idea, but I don't think it is very likely. Amazing too that Scunthorpe can entertain Man United with the hoardings a metre from the edge of the pitch yet the Mayo League insists on five or some such balls....
theres no question they do get carried away, but they go on about pitches and the condition of them but some of the pitches are terrible eg.paeksides pitch ankle breaker!!!!!
Last round of SL games this weekend, alot of them mean nothing so cant see teams taken them very serious. waste of time the way the ML hav done it.
