    P. Burns fairly put the boot into the league in the Connaught this week, fair dues to him its about time some of these issues were discussed openly.

Did not see or hear what P. Burns wrote in the Connaught, is that P that used manage Westport, basicaly what he had to say on the issue dont want the whole article but the bare basics or a sumary of the article.

I have to agree with what he wrote, at least he called it as most of us football fans see our game going in the county.

Cant see it happening or being benefical to football in the county, we just need to attend more to footballing matters and stop trying to fix things that are not broken.I have to say the mood in general with clubs players and managers is very low and this cloud hanging over everyone concerning relegation is a complete and utter mess (again).

The league forced westport to narrow their pitch which they deemed to near the running track( A common situation in some of the worlds biggest sporting stadia) They made them narrow the pitch and thus hampering the game and creating lots of throws. Burns wrote that the situation was basically crazy and that most clubs were fed up with the fines and antics the league are employing just to main stage their ambitions to a national audience . He said that the clubs should meet separately to discuss their disgruntlement and then approach the league with their own presentations. It was a great article and common sense but it will take one club to invite all others to a meeting by getting the ball rolling. Or maybe we could do it on here

Can you imagine the amount of crap that would come down on the club who are seen to organise a meeting.

Well I have just received a PM from a very progressive Club who would be interested in a, shall we say' informal discussion' . I would welcome all other PMs with strictest confidence. Just to refer to your point Rava i understand but number one its a free country and number two while Im pretty sure most clubs have the utmost respect for the governing body we are all adults and a move like that would be considered playground stuff and highly unprofessional. Many of the LOI clubs have met over certain issues before some clubs present and some not, but the FAI didnt smack their bums for them and tell them off. In fact its a healthy thing and improves club relations . Anyhow as I said anyone can PM me on the matter and Ill leave it at that .

Well its good to see clubs are finally interested in having a say in their game. I am sure other clubs will follow suit and I hope something constructive comes out of it all. I agree totally with the idea of free speech and openly encourage it. Lets hope the league is able to take this on the chin and not spit the dummy out as the previous chairman would most certainly have done.

Both sides would have to be conciliatory for any any good to come out of it. Now that the opportunity is there lets see how many clubs are interested.

you can discuss all you like with the mchales and durkins and the rest of the mfl hierarchy ... but as everybody knows its allways going to be there way or no way , they wont change anything about this 8 team set up , there 2 stuborn and cant take any constructive comments..or criticism....how do you think they will react when they get wind of clubs organising meetings to discuss there meddling and supposed new look 8 team leagues????????
..its a good idea that clubs should be able to discuss away from camp milebush ...

my last post was meant to state that clubs do not deserve to be in this stitaution of uncertainty. i am not at the stage to be sypmathetic for the league committee but i do think in general what they aim to do for mayo soccer overall is good when done slowly and openly. on the other hand tactical implementation of 'rules' , crippling fines, division chaos, all this at this stage of a season is etremely bad form. clubs should meet together and then approach the league with all matters and proposals and if all fails strike action could be an idea, and one which would overwhelmingly be a vote of no confidence in the league

Lots of rumours all weekend about the clubs preparing to meet, does anybody know who is organising this or how can clubs get involved. On a side note I hear some of the fines handed out to clubs this month were priceless even by mayo league standards one club was fined for no hot water for the ref!.

Not true. Ive recieved only one PM from a club and that club is to talk to a influential name in the game but apart from that nothing... As always people are all talk and the madness will continue unchallanged. People too afraid of their own shadow IMO. The league need not worry just yet !!

I agree with you pixiehead. Most people in the clubs are happy with the way things are run. The people that criticize here are really only a small minority. The silent majority get on about their own affairs, and concentrate on running their clubs and looking after their teams. It is also very wrong to criticize individuals by name on a forum like this, as some people do. Would they like it themselves?
Like many others I do not agree with some of the so called madness that comes from the ML, but in general we have nothing of a serious nature to be complaining about in the Mayo league. Despite what some people are saying, it is us the clubs that has the power to change things if we want to. Having meetings outside the league is ridiculous. I suppose that we will have the usual dissenter to what I have said but if you really look at all the posts it is the same few that constantly criticize.
