Disappointing to see only two Mayo teams progressing to the next round of the Connaught cup. Indicative of a general slump in Mayo football or merely a bad day at the collective office? Is summer football maybe making this cup tougher for Mayo teams?

Of course the summer league is making it tougher for Mayo teams to do well in both conn cup and fai junior. No team is in full training at the moment, no team is playing week in week out and no team in Mayo would've had a full squad available for the weekends games (at a guess).
For example, we had 11 players yesterday, 6 who played more than 5 games, and 3 who played no games in the super league last year. Got a man sent off and should've still won a game against a sligo super league side who are in the middle of their season.
ML are right to have summer league, why is every other county staying winter league? Pitches are cr@p, games called off, miserable weather and the league of ireland is played in the summer; are these not enough reasons to have a summer league for every irish county league?

Couldnt agree with you more, the winter league is ridiculous, if you look at the fixture lists and results for counties playing winter soccer they never get a proper run at their leagues with games getting called off, add to this (in many cases) the rubbish pitches & facilities enjoyed by other counties (I have to say the Mayo League by and large have better facilities across the board because the league demands the standard - we have dugouts for example) how can football be played properly?
It is down to the people involved in the other counties in Connacht to get the finger out in this regard.
Connacht should lead the way by getting the other counties (Sligo, Leitrim & Galway) to start playing summer soccer, then the connacht Cup could be played during the summer and show the rest of the country it can work.

Good luck to them, I would go to the match but its on at such an awkward time that nobody will travel.
How about the players who are away? Are they all expected to take a day off work to make it down for the game? Bit of a joke if you ask me...
Dont even think the players are bothered if they win or not?!
Is Manulla v Iorrais game on this weekend?
