Maybe we could all look forward to the headline next week, and I might be proven wrong. Best of luck to both teams. Pity about the weather for a final at this time of year.
The Connaught Telegraph certainly did a great job on the build up for the final. It was the best we ever saw. I think Swinford have a good chance and will put it up to Manulla on Sunday and I hope they do well in the Super League next season. Like all promoted teams they need to get a good start next season.
Best of luck to both teams at the weekend.

I'll go for Swinford in a tight game, disgraceful that the game has to be in played in Decemeber but that's the ML for ya, "Summer" season...

My heart says Swinford but my head says Manulla will win easily.

It is unfortunate and ridiculous that the game is being played in December but did the clubs not agree to this last year when they agreed to have a much later start to the super league. A few weekends were lost because of deaths and the bad weather also. I suppose that is what happens at this time of the year and we have to put up with it. I do not want to be defending anyone but I don't think it is all down to the Mayo league. Anyway the cup final should be played long before this, and let us hope that they change it for next year.

To be fair to the Mayo FA, this Final was scheduled to be played on the 8th of November so its been put back 4 weeks because of weather and bereavements.

Didn't see too much of either side this year but the very nature of the cup final means this game is very much 50/50. Personally I fancy Manulla as a lot of their squad have played in cup finals before. Then again so have Swinford but mainly at Tuohy/Tonra level. I'd say 2-1 Manulla.

i'd have to go for a manulla win.they seem to have all the momentum going into the final so can't really see swinford staying with them over the 90 minutes.i'll go for a 3-1 win for manulla.would love to see swinford prove me wrong though!!should be a good game regardless

Well done to Manulla on winning the Chadwicks Cup. Thought Swinford really put it up to Manulla and Trevor McDonald was unlucky to have his goal cleared off the line.

Great performance from Swinford. I thought that Manulla were a little bit more experienced and had the greater chances but Swinford had a great chance to go in front and failed to take it. There was a good crowd at the game but not too many from the other clubs around.

Congrats to Manulla. It was a very good game allowing for the conditions. Both teams tried to play football and deserve credit.

My earlier prediction that Swinford would put it up to Manulla proved fairly accurate. Swinford were Manulla's equal yesterday and could have won the game. If they were a little more clinical up front they could have won. Some fine performances from a lot of players yesterday. I noted that both managers were reluctant to make too many changes and left it late to introduce fresh legs.

Fair play to Swinford they more than matched Manulla in most sectors of the field. If they can raise their game like this week in week out next season they should stay up.

Great preformance from Swinford yesterday really looked up for it,gave Manulla a good run for their money, some lovely football played by both teams but i have to say Swinford for me were the better team on the day and did not deserve to lose the way they did,but thats football for ya .They can really look forward to next year now and if Sean Kav can keep that group of players together they will more than hold their own in the Super league.

    Have a look at this:
    http://www.oddschecker.com/football/...fai-junior-cup

    Swinford 33/1, Ballina 33/1, Iorras 40/1

Obviously someone had a punt on Swinford...

Some interesting odds there Ballymun 12/1, Killester 6/1 and their playing each other next round!

    odds?

what a joke swinford having same odds as ballina and shorter odds than iorras, did well aganst manulla at the weekend but manulla finished a long way behind the top three in the super league last season will do well to hold there own against the top six or seven teams next season they have been in the super league a long time there is no compensation for experience.

They held their own everytime they played super league oppisition this year, beating Ballyheane and just losing out to Manulla. They proved to everyone on sunday that they are well able to put it up to anyone.
Odds will be well down when they beat Ballina so get the bets on early

Think about it .... its either Ballina or Swinford hence they on the same money ..... it doesnt take a genius to work that one out .... .... and yes Ballina would be the fav's ...

Dont ever open a bookies buddy!! Thats like saying if Chelsea play Moscow in the next round of the champions league that they will both be the same odds.

Ballina winning the junior cup would be equivalent of Arsenel winning champs league, Swinford winning junior cup would be equivalent of Bohemians winning it.

Realistically Ballina and Erris have correct odds, Swinford should be 100/1 or more.
