He's not a great ref, there are a lot worse but there are better too, but failing to make calls such as game winning or losing calls in the Ballina- C'town game lacks Consistency and that to me goes a long way in a ref being at least average/fair. ?? am i right in saying he mainly refs super league games? My opinion is from the very start of the Ballina_ C'town game he had his mind made up that Ballina were going to come on top (Without his help) so he found it hard to make the call for C'town to get the final fair result. its hard enough for a small club like C'town to travel to the likes of Ballina who have a very nice soccer team and try and come away with a respectable result and Again I'm going to say it "consistency" goes a long way. NOW DONE .

Their are a couple of refs currently in the league that treat the players with contempt if they dare question any decision made by them, I have to admit if I was still playing I would find it very difficult not to react to it.

The biggest problem perhaps is assessment or grading. Considering they are a paid group, there should be a more transparent grading process, whether that is done by FAI Assessors (although saying that, one only has to look at FAI Cup Final last weekend), the League or by clubs are indeed all combined. Maybe off the mark here, but it appears that most of the referees that entered in the last 4-5 years are the worst, with an odd exception, they cannot be queried on a decision, can't control overly physical games, improper or sometimes untrue match reports into league, etc, etc. and generally consider them persons above everyone else on matchday. Has there ever been a referee society meeting held with all clubs ever??

Was just reading through the last few comments on your thread, was looking for a bit of info on Moy Villa. We(Ballygawley) have them in the 2nd round of the Connacht Shield, not looking for PIN numbers or anything just any fairly basic info, facilities, standard, style, quality of the boozers(!!).

On the subject of refs, I wouldnt do it, but..... We played Crossmolina up there a year ot 2 back and the ref was awful, he didnt seem to give a damn about the the game, subs had to go to him in the centre of the pitch to come on, it was bizzare....we won so it not sour grapes, but he was shocking.

Condolences to the Keane family, friends and Ballyglass FC

They are a small rural club 5 or 6 miles outside Ballina, fine facilities up to standard with nearly all in the Mayo league + an astro-turf pitch, have not played for a year they were strong enough that time in 2010,dont know what they are like now as they lost a number of players from that season.

Condolences too the Keane family and too Ballyglass.

As regard to the referee, i found him very poor in a game i saw this season. he one crazy decision which completely changed the game and actually ruin the game. He should not be refereed super league game.

Don't think there can be many complaints about the team this year. Was the Oscar Traynor team the same, didn't hear much about it.

its canning to suggest you would get fair play when playing manulla

Did Bangor win the champions league or something. Good to see nepotism alive and well in Mayo league circles.

Look I know I am a Celtic supporter but can anyone tell me why Declan Kilkelly did not win Manager of the Year after his team won the Super League undefeated and becoming the first team to do this. How can they pick a manager of a team that won the third division title and which lost to our B team on the way. No disrespect to the Bangor manager but the Mayo League once again showed their true colours when it comes to Celtic. Don’t get me talking about club of the year, can’t remember coming across any women’s /girls teams from Bangor this season etc. Celtic just won the Super League, B team promoted to the Premier Division, Women’s team completed domestic treble as well and becoming a founder member of the NWL, U17 Boys League & Cup winners, U16 Boys league winners, U13 Boys league winners, U12 Boys All-Ireland Community Games Champions, U12 Girls League & Cup Champions, U14 Girls league Runners up and Cup finalists. Yes I know it’s not all about winning and that we do have a major advantage over smaller towns and rural areas when it comes to player numbers. Maybe I just can’t help looking through my green & white tinted glasses and just can’t shake that Celtic chip of my shoulder but this smells of using your Mayo league influence to secure these prizes. Hope the press will comment on the above or I am going to far? Congrats to Boyler on his Footballer of the Year award.

Does anybody else know of a league that is as bitter and spiteful of success as the Mayo League is? Bangor winning both club of the year and manager of the year are frankly a joke. I believe it was purely done just to stick the two fingers up to Celtic. Somehow, Ronan O' Boyle was the best player in the county but not the Super League. Another point, the Celtic Womens team had no game for 5 weeks before the Mary Walsh Cup final. The Mayo League decided to put it on the day before our first game in the National Womens League. Is it just me or is that just cold and very very low. Its no wonder Celtic try to get out of this corrupt disgusting organisation

Just to clarify one point, the Mayo Women’s League is a different organisation to their male counterparts. But this Women’s league was not very helpful to Celtic's attempt to join the NWL. Great result last Sunday.

Its Hard to believe why Declan kilkelly didn't get Manager of the year, the only reason I can suggest is that he was suspended by the league. and this would be considered when they made there selection
