Claremorris got nice foot up with the signing of Glynn. Should be a top player as long as the ball is played to his feet!!

Why does Charlestown Ath. or Ballyglass spring to mind?

Well both of them got royally screwed by the league last year. So this was their arena to air those gripes and justifiably so.

Refs, dressing rooms, pitch maintenance(seed, sand, mowing ect), hot water, electricity, league and player affiliation fee's, kits washed bla bla bla. Maybe you should have a word with an official at your club and they can show you the accounts.Basically if a club breaks even at the end of a season they are doing well. Your reg fee doesnt even cover the cost of the running of the club. Thats why clubs still have to fund raise. In fact its not "pretty high for what you get". Do you think all the facilities and the running of clubs is just magicked out of the sky with monopoly money???

Relax now good lad, are the refs not paid after each game??? in most clubs players take it in turns to wash the kits to help with that cost. The reg fee doesnt do nearly anything for the running of the club.

I no to well what goes into the running cost of a club as ive paid a few bills out of my own pocket from time to time.

Its pretty high for the times we are in as im sure you look at any team in mayo, there are players not working or they have had there working days reduced and still have there own bills/families.

so maybe take a breath and chill..

I can understand all that dude. However this situation is just an example of the economy itself at scale. While wages and salaries have been effected costs have not changed. If a club reduces its registration its setting its self up for a deficit at the end of the year. Also its the same complaint from lads every year that they dont have it yet they miraculously have it in the pub every weekend to **** it up against a wall. Most clubs go back training in February. If you gave your club 20 euro per week you would have it paid off before a ball was kicked.

Yes the refs are paid after every game but most clubs take that out of the funds unless you have a system where by a collection is made. If you do then reg should be cheaper. If players want cheaper registration then it will mean extra revenue could be sought from fund raising and I dont know about you but you would be as well asking the wall to sell a ticket or do a flag day as you would the majority of fellas. Have you been involved at committee level boy? Now for that breath.....

Yes refs would be paid before each game now rather than after,But that is a club expense.if you take ref cost and the cost of a player to play for a club you are looking in the region of €80 per player so any membership would have to higher than that amount.
I say well done if you can get players to wash football kits, I would take it most clubs, this would not happen. this just one of the many cost clubs would have, two which have not been mention league fines, pitch maintenance cutting of grass and pitch markings.
No one involved in football should be out of pocket. At the end of the day its collective responabilty of all members, players are members, first and formost.
While I do feel sorry for hardship cases, whist why they can't pay they can fund raise to help with the cost.

With Parkside and Inver pulling out, does anyone know what will happen with regards to div.2? I guess that one team from div.2 will be promoted to div.1 to replace Inver and either two teams from div. 3 promoted or will the leave it at 7 teams in each division?
