Ballyheane B won div 3 last year so instead of playing with most of the teams they played against last year, they moved up to Div 1. i think its very fair, fahy b shouldn't be there anyhow, ok k+k utd had a case but there you go ...

why do they always have the soccer fixture clashing with GAA. Teams are always complaining about teams not traveling and not being able field a team but when most players play both with GAA as a preference what can they expect. First league game this weekend clashing with GAA its starting already why not play one sunday the other saturday

The reason is that super league games normaly has 3 officials so thats why Super league on Sunday and other divisions on Saturday, normaly they alternate every secound week, it would be impossible too fix fixtures too suit everyone. The GAA league fixtures for the lower divisions are set for Saturday because Mayo are playing the league final on Sunday. It would be great if the 2 associations could meet and ensure that they dont clash due too emigration affecting both codes but i can't see that ever happening.

Fair enough, but it seems a hard division for them.

Just read about the Security Breach on the Mayo League website on the Connacht. Fairly serious if true. Aren't all the DOB, addresses etc stored for all underage and adult players stored on there?

I hope they contacted http://www.dataprotection.ie within two days of become suspicious or they could be in serious trouble.

"Failure to comply with these obligations can result in a criminal prosecution with fines of up to €5,000 and on indictment €250,000 per offence." Doubt the Mayo League want that kind of bill on their hands.

I have heard that some clubs have been contacted by the club association that met a few years ago. Maybe revolution is in the air!

Last year Roscommon and Mayo Over 35s played a 2 leg match (think roscommon won on penalties). Must be expanding it this year. Havent heard anything yet, as league is only starting.

Seems as though Sligo/Leitrim are entering the John Sherlock Memorial Cup, there was a squad announced in a local paper. Players have to be over 35 and registered to play with a Sligo/Leitrim junior soccer club....... not a huge pile of players to pick from

In the Mayo Lg. and Roscommon & District Lg. they have a Masters Over 35s League aswell. This allows a reprsentative side to be picked. Although it wouldnt be as competitive as the Oscar Traynor. Still worthwhile and an honour to play in.

and it should not clash with mayo league fixtures, no point making the lads who are still playing to decide, club or masters,

Acording to the Mayo league facebook page Newport was deducted 3 points,is this as a result of the contrversay with Castlebar Celtic preseason or is it something else. Where is Newport playing there home matches this season as we are meeting in the first round of the Conaught Gold Cup.
