    License's not derserved!!

It is a good thing that eircom league clubs have not been issued with Premier licenses yet.Why should they? There are only a small handful of clubs in this country that seem to be doing any decent work on there ground at all.And yes i know the funding is not there in many cases but thats a different issue.By clubs failing to get there licenses UEFA are actually telling clubs to improve there ground FOR US FANS.A prime example last season of SOME grounds in this league.I travelled to the RSC in Waterford and if there were 200 seats in the uncovered area i reckon at least 100 were broken or filthy.I have been to most grounds around the country at one stage or another and a lot of them do not come close to a decent standard.Yes Cork City are making an effort and especially since Brian Lennox came in big changes have been made but it will take time. What did we expect?I have been to stadiums in England and lads its a different world.I am talking facilitys at 3rd division grounds even.I wish some of the kids on here that dont have a clue would stop trying to tell others what the reasons were.Portaloos in the St Annes End i heard one say?Great!Take a du*p there and run and wash your hands down the other end of the ground. And the frightening thing is that City have one of the better grounds in the country...

To be fair RedX, I don't think anybody was was "trying to tell others what the reasons were". People were merely speculating as to what the reasons might have been. Would you prefer if people didn't speculate? This is a discussion forum for City and speculation is the basis of many a good discussion.

The reasons why nobody got a Premier license are probably numerous. A lot of clubs like City are making great efforts to comply with the UEFA standards and no doubt it is only a matter of time before these clubs secure premier licenses.
However, as you pointed out some clubs seem to be content to sit back and do nothing. You used the RSC as an example of a ground in need of repair, you're dead right that place is a dump.... one nice stand and nothing else. O2 park is another dump as is Inchicore. Hopefully all these grounds will be significantly improved.... I know Pats have plans for a new stand but what of other clubs?
Of course, it's also worth remembering that there are so many more aspects to licensing than just stadia.

I agree with you RED X, some people need to come off the cloud they think the eL is on.

But why start a whole new thread on it? There are two perfectly good ones already.

Just one issue with what u said though. There arent any portaloos in the St Annes end anymore!!!!

Saw an interview with the EL's most loveable chairman Ollie Byrne on the RTE News late last night and basically he didn't know what all the fuss re: licensing was all about.

There is a seasons grace for Europe which he said was known about all the time so theres no point getting in a tissy over it.

Certain clubs are taking steps, like ourselves but I suppose the main worry is those that aren't.

    He's such a lovely man.

Thats a really hit and miss point RedX. Some stadiums are lovely, others, in divisions above the 3rd even, are in shít.

Most of the premiership clubs wouldnt get a licence as is.
