Trying to watch the game in Newcastle

    Hi All,

Will be in Newcastle for a Stag this weekend. Can anyone recomend the best place around the City centre (or there abouts) to see the game.

    Regards

according to today's Indo, Shay Given watched the 5-2 game in the Irish club. So don't go there, obviously.
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

I'll ask my dad later tonight because he was up there last weekend. He went to the Irish Centre but said it was a small venue. The city itself was brilliant. A few bars had a game where you pressed a button at the bar and this wheel sent whizzing round and stopped at things like "buy one round get one round free". I cannot see that catching on in Dublin!

The Irish Centre is pretty central about 4-5mins walk from St James & the same from most central hotels, if your staying in one ask them for directions to it as the main door is on a street corner but from watching a Celtic v Falkirk match in there about 3 years ago it is tiny & all the Irish residents there will be packed into it for the match no doubt.

Your best bet is to jump into a taxi & ask them to take you to an Irish bar showing the match - I was in a similair situation to yourself 2 years back when we were playing Slovakia(correct me if it was slovenia, always mix them 2 up) & the taxi fella dropped me off in this great bar packed with Irish & I think it is along the water-front but can't remember the name unfortunately.
If all else fails I'm sure most bars will be showing the match anyway if you ask as your lot over the water play at 5pm on sat I think

You are correct but let me suggest a way to help you remember-

Formerly a part of Czechoslovakia. That game was on the same week as the Czech Rep match so you'll make the connection alright!!

    Apologies for being a dork!!!
