Absolutely Geysir. I think Garvan's dropping had a whole lot more to do with Keane than it had to do with Garvan.
Maybe he shouldn't have been dropped from the first team squad in the first place.

Think someone posted on this thread earlier that Ipswich fans that he had been talking too werent at all upset that Garvan had been dropped because he had been playing poorly.
Its really not that complicated!!!
And some Ipswich fans thought that Garvan's demotion was undeserved.
At the time it read like the whole team, apart from Bruce, were poor.
And now that Garvan is back, playing well and Ipswich win, could well be solid proof that he should never have been ditched![]()
could be seen that he was underperforming and this was the kick up the arse he needed.....I met Ipswich fans after the reading game and they all said he had potential but said he wasn't putting in the effort to get back in the side and that he needed to step up to the plate....
Bring back the plank
Could be seen in a lot of ways to fit many theories.
He was just one of many from the team performing poorly and the team did not perform any better when he was dropped (hoof ball - quality deficit). As Garvan looked more than decent enough in the u21 game against the Swiss, the kick up the ass theory doesn't press all the buttons.
I saw him come on as sub in their first came against Coventry and he was a cut above every other Ipswich player, getting on the ball all the time and passing it impeccably except for one time where he received a throw in and knocked it into touch by accident. His form wasn't poor then.
I only reported what ipswich fans had said..they watch the team and reserve games every week...I don't so cant comment ....they did say that David wright was dropped as well early on and since he came back he has played very well and that his atitude is first class....also none of them doubted Garvans potential and all hope he would kick on
