Sorry lads but I thought this thread was about Owen Garven and not GLASGOW Celtic.
Always look on the bright side of life
Have I missed something/ Is therer any actual suggestion linking garvan with Celtic?
Well unless you think Aiden is a mind reader, whats he supposed to have done?
They didnt make it out of the Group Stages last season for the first season in a few years. This year has been a disaster in terms of Europe but no one expected it to be this bad.
As the next transfer window is not till January - who knows what will happen.
Personally, Id rather play for Celtic, a club I supported as a boy, with a proud history, a fabulous stadium and fans, winning trophies, representing them in the Champions League and winning against the likes of Milan, Man U, Juve, etc....than er...... Play for a mid-table club in League 2 over in England
But hey thats just my personal opinion, no doubt you could earn more money with your option, so you'd be happy enough.
Mods: Sorry, if anything this should be in Aidens thread - back on topic from now on.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew
No absolutely not, Celtics midfield has been poor - But then what has Garvan done of note this season? It was just in response to your statement
That isnt the case imo though Ive also thought he looked good in the few U21 games Ive seen - Its all potential really isnt it?
Im sure Barcelona and Celtic thought that Crosas would be the real deal but he's failed to match the hype so far.
Lets see how he progresses - needs to be playing though
PS: McCourt has looked average at best since his couple of wonder goals.

Yeah, it's just disappointing that a guy herladed many times (by non-Irish) as being one of the best players - not just best young players - outside the EPL is now seemingly spending another whole season doing F all.
You're living in the past man. This isn't 2005-2006 anymore. This is 2009, where Celtic can't afford to pay the likes of Nakamura to bend in free kicks against Manchester United because the big TV money is all gone. Celtic are stuck now losing to the likes of the second place team in the Cypriot league.
QPR are interested in him:

Out of favour Ipswich midfield playmaker Owen Garvan could link up again with his old boss Jim Magilton.
QPR chief Magilton has enquired about possibly taking the Republic of Ireland skipper to Loftus Road on loan.
The goals are flowing from the promotion chasing Championship Rangers side and Magilton feels that Garvan’s midfield craft could create more.
Fans of struggling Ipswich are puzzled as to why Magilton’s successor Roy Keane does not appear to rate Garvan.
The Portman Road chief declares that the popular player “needs to do more".
Cardiff, Nottingham Forest and Scunthorpe are also watching the situation closely.
Former Ipswich boss Joe Royle once said that Garvan was “a Steven Gerrard in the making".
The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist thinks it will change; the realist adjusts the sails.
I was wondering why Magilton hadn't taken a look at him, as he performed well for him. was there a personality clash at one stage?
The other potential suitors aren't exactly exhilerating.
You have obviously never visited Scunthorpe.
Garvan starts today VS Sheffield Wednesday, first time playing for the senior side since 22 August!
He scored midweek in a 3-1 win over Luton reserves
from http://www.itfc.co.uk/page/Reserves/...878131,00.html
Keane had this to say about it in the build up to today's game (from http://www.itfc.co.uk/page/Preview/0...881080,00.html )Garvan completed the scoring with a fantastic strike 10 minutes from time, lashing in a 20 yarder following a corner
Owen Garvan did well for the reserves in midweek and he comes into my thinking
I think aspirations of Garvan being a great hope for Ireland have been shown up but there is no reason that he won't be a glenn whelan player who will eventually find his way into the team when he's 24-25
Match was on Sky tonight. He did ok and wasn't subbed but he was no better than O'Connor or Potter.
Delaney played centre half for Ipswich and handled the ball in the penalty areaNo penalty given. Let no one mention handball to me for the next week!! 0-0 draw. I was wondering if Ipswich won would Keane say, if Wednesday were Irish they'd be looking for a replay
Two poors sides to be honest and Ipswich have no teeth. First Owls' clean sheet in a while.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Hopefully he puts his head down now and nails a starting place there.
I've been a critic of Garvan but I watched him against Cardiff today and it looks like that spell in the reserves has really shook him up. Assisted two goals today and was man of the match in my opinion.
Its really not that complicated!!!
