Keane seems to overreact a lot when things aren't going his way , I can't see Garvan leaving though and it would be a terribly foolish decision by Keane if he were to let him go.
I always loved this line from the Guardian:
Man of the match Owen Garvan
To score a hat-trick and not be man of the match says something for the man who was. Garvan was the fulcrum of this fantasy football

The ability is there with Garvan.
Through a mutual friend I met a senior official at a French Ligue 1 club yesterday (10th or 11th last season I think).
Should I email him about Garvan?![]()
Always a possibility on here but a couple of seasons ago Garvan looked a better player in the Championhsip than Gibson ay Wolves, McCann at Burnley and Whelan and Sheffield Wednesday yet was younger than all 3. I'd say he was probably more likely to flounder than not under two poor managers in Magilton and Keane. Keane in particular has no pedigree at developing young players. Royle seemed to rate him highly beforehand.
The fans on the Ipswich boards are fairly surprised he is going and most seem to believe he is a very good player with huge potential. I would trust their opinions far more than Keane. Keane will now bring in an ageing untalented lump of a journeyman that he knows from his playing days to sit in the midfield, do what they're told and kick people.

How has Garvan played this season when he actually got some time on the pitch?
I saw him when he came on as sub against Coventry. Everything went through him. He was always collecting the ball and just playing apparently simple but perfectly weighted passes bringing others in to the game. He had the knack of always being in a place to pick the ball up. A bit lite Gibson, none of his passes was particularly incisive but I've seen some players for whom even passing is a struggle. I noticed he's quick to use his right foot too (one very nice pass in the WBA defeat in the first half). Against Coventry he collected a throw in and mis-hit it back into touch on one occasion.
I didn't see it but I hear he was very careless giving the ball away to WBA from which they nearly scored - Wright made a save?
I hear Quinn nearly scored against WBA so he can't have been that bad.
Losing to Peterborough won't go down well in Suffolk.
Wolves as a possible destination?
He could either be a cut price or even a loan deal.
Ipswich have agreed a fee with Sunderland for Grant Leadbitter... Another midfielder. Good player too. Not one of those limited but hard working types one might argue is not in direct competition with Garvan... Definately doesn't look well for him now.
Where'd the Wolves thing come from?? Just speculation on your part or d'ye read it anywhere??
Pure speculation, but considering Mick has been in championship he'd know who the better players are. Likewise Mowbray.
without starting the whole saipan argument again .. *takes deep breath* but those words "you're a crap manager" might come back to haunt Keane. He has a lot of work to do. Magilton had the same team just off the play-off spots last season.
Getting back on thread, this is really a make or break season for Garvan .. if Keane doesn't fancy him hopefully he will quickly get a chance somewhere else to prove his worth. Time to start delivering on the potential
I have it from a very very reliable source that keane has a very strong dislike of garvan and that he has already pretty much lost the dressing room
No wonder he's signing 4 sunderland players (Leadbitter, Edwards, Nosworthy and Murphy)
Garvan will come good. He just needs to be playing in a team that believe in passing the ball. Getting rid of him will come back to haunt Keane.
Always look on the bright side of life
