I think this is the way the quarters will line up:

    Ballinasloe v Athenry/Westport
    Galway Hibs v East Utd/Tuam
    Manor Rangers v Manulla/Carbury
    S&F/Salthill v Oranmore/Coolera

6 of the 13 remaining teams are from Galway, 3 Sligo/Leitrim, 3 Mayo, 1 Roscommon. Dont think the winners of Athenry/Westport would necessarily be favourites, especially with an away tie to Ballinasloe the next hurdle. If Carbury can get by Manulla I'd fancy them to beat Manor. I cant see Coolera pulling off 2 away wins to make semis. Galway Hibs will fancy their chances at home. My predicted semi-finalists are - Ballinasloe, Galway Hibs, Carbury, Salthill.

Apologies to all those whom I've offended and jinxed with my predictions

I think it is a fair stab at what might happen. It is all down to what happens on the day. Athenry have been there before and still have some fine players. Westport will find it tough. I think that Ballinasloe can do well also. Carbury appear to be doing well in Sligo and could go all the way also. Galway Hibs are always a good bet, and I suppose Salthill will have most of their second string. Manulla do not look like they are putting in much effort in Mayo so I think they can be ruled out. Do not know anything about Tuam, East, Coolera or Manor to make a judgement.
Will stick my neck out and go for Westport to go all the way this year. They are used to winning away from home.

Athenry and Westport should be a cracking game and wouldnt be suprised if the
winner from that game went on to win it outright. if Carbury overcome Manulla they wont get it
easy against Manor up there. i still think it will be Carbury's year this year. having seen them play this year they
are playing some great football and will be very hard bet. they were beating in the final by athenry a couple of seasons a go
but they have a whole new team. this time around far stronger and superior to what they were back then

Cheers Leveller, Thought it was a good game from both sides, Good luck in the league this year, Sorry to hear your Manager Padraig stepped down. Fair play to him on all the success he brought the side over the years.

no suprises in the connacht cup at the weekend think the ballinasloe and athenry should
be a good game both teams will fancy there chances. that side of the draw looks the toughest with carbury
    and manor doing battle.
