    Supporters organise monster draw

Some fortunate fan of Longford Town could win with the keys to a Eur100,000 Spanish home or a cash alternative of Eur80,000 in a fund-raising draw organised by the Longford Town Supporters club.

Fans of the FAI Cup winners have enhanced their reputation as one of the most proactive supporters groupings by organising a Monster Draw to help underwrite the cost of completing development work at Flancare Park..

Ticket cost Eur90 each and six draws will be held beginning on July 30 and concluding on December 31, 2004.

Top prize each month will be a Fiat Seicento car with a host of other prizes on offer.

The newly formed Supporters Club branch in Ballinalee will be supporting the venture as will their Dublin-based counterparts.

    Exclamation

I think this is a great draw. I hope that the proceeds won't be used for the day to day running of the club. Whether we like it or not now is the time to get people in the gate and paying money every week to see the Town. One of draws are great but we cannot let the added financial benefits of this over shadow other issues. Da Town needs more support...

Depends, have the accounts been filed and approved yet?

That's near enough word for word from the Leader last week... I'll nip out for this weeks now and see what the story is (the shop next to work gets the provincial papers on a friday)....

no... by Limited I mean a membership, the memebrship of the draw is capped at someting like 1500(e.g.) as is frequently the case in large draws...

it was an example figure... anyway... how many do you reckon could be sold... average gate is 2000...

    Prize fund is €100,000 + (6x 9,175) = 155,000

Give or take 10,000... that's 1725 tickets before ypu crack open the bubbly....

It was a poor attempt to be funny and make the point that there's been nothing said about the accounts...
