The Football Association of Ireland today (August 17) announced that it will release tickets, including a family friendly children’s ticket, next Monday, for the September 8 friendly against South Africa in Thomond Park.
Tickets for the Thomond Park game will be available from Monday, August 24 through the following outlets:

So I have my ticket what i paid €25 for the south terrace , will this mean the the good old FAI are going to give me a rebate ?????????

Credit where its due, a sensible move and at least the prices are in general more reasonable.
In fairness if they werent gonna fill the place for Australia not much chance of filling it for a SA game.
Don't know about that. They'll probably still make the same amount out of it seeing as more people will go. They were just using the Australia match to explore how far they could go in relation to ripping people off.

Stand tickets decrease by €15, but Terraces by just €5.
This isn't a sensible move, it's the bare minimum possible. All parts of the ground are still horrendously overpriced for such a fixture.
On that basis the FAI owe me €30 for the two stand tickets that I already have and have paid for, won't hold my breath though!! Typical "pull it out of your arse" effort from the boys in Abbotstown!!
The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.

not all tickets in Bari were €12. i think i heard some were about €60 each (not for Irish fans). also tickets available for Ireland V Italy for €50. your comparison is therefore wide of the mark
things are different on the continent. the matches are played in municipal stadiums and therefore have to have very low prices for some tickets so that the stadium is open to people of all means.
Isn't that what the FAI should be doing?
Its sad that so many people in Limerick couldn't afford to go to such a historic event in their city. About time the FAI brought football back the ordinary person. I know someone who wanted to bring his two sons to the Australia game but as his sons are very young, he was worried they wouldn't see the game in the terraces.
He ended up watching it on t.v as it would have cost him €165 for three stand tickets. It still would have been €75 for the three of them for the cheapest tickets behind the goals.

Families can't go to games at those prices, and unless the father is MD of some bank, paying €165 to watch a semi-competitive friendly with 12 substitutions is unjustifiable. Never mind related expenses.
A single person can manage it, but the ticket prices are simply unrealistic in the current climate.
If its true that the FAI were charged €250,000 for the use of Thomond Park for both of these games then no wonder the prices are still so high even after the reductions.
Once we move back to Landsdowne Road it will be a real reflection of how much the FAI want to charge for the game.

It's not only ticket sales that pay for the FAI's use of stadiums. They have significant cash reserves as we know, and compared to the rent they're charged for Croke Park, €250k is cheap.
Lansdowne prices will be similiar to Croke Park ones. Which will continue to not sell out in most cases.
Fair enough all things may not have been equal in my comparison. I was only dealing with what it cost me for my ticket for Italy away compared to Italy at home. I didn't do any research into what it cost the locals. The fact remains, despite what other countries are charging, the FAI's prices are shameful and they are only dropping the prices for the upcoming friendly for their own benefit, and not to cut Average Joe some slack, so I don't think they're due any credit. €5 for the match programme for the Friendly in Thomond was cat as well.

Have you seen the accounts? Cash reserves is something they don't have.
For every Italy v Ireland, I can quote a Norway v Ireland for the friendly in Oslo where the tickets were dearer.
Between the rent of the Gaalibahn etc the FAI make what they can out of the game.
