Great to hit France and Switzerland early away from home. Hopefully it help as in the 2002 qualifiers seeing both are in Portugal this year.
This is the cooooooooooooolest footy forum I've ever seen!
well done the FAI!
should be a good home win to get the confidence up followed by our two toughest game when arguably their players will be on the euro championships hangover.
Can't believe the Swiss ended up away to France and then away to us within a week for their last two games.
The Swiss in the last game as well! albeit were at home this time.
You cant help feeling though that the two early fixtures against the Swiss and the French could go against us leaving us a bit off the pace, its all really a much of a muchness to be honest. Could actually see us sneaking something against the French at home if we got our finger out, as for playing them away I dont fancy our chances.
........just booked return London - Zurich and London - Paris flights for the autumn games .........a certain budget airline allows you to book up till October for silly money ............
..........would advise anybody with a sufficient lack of commitment on the domestic front to book now to save money........
erin go bragh...........
i hope the boys dont slip up against the 'smaller teams' (i hate that term but you know what i mean) they are the clubs that only a win will do against
i fancy our chances against france a draw and a win at home scored in the 90th will suit me fine
bring it on ...![]()
Lads just on this note if you know your going to head to Swiss I'd suggest booking with Ryanair very soon.Their offer says that they exclude sporting events so it's a good idea to book before they realise that Ireland are playing in September.Standsted to Graz is just £35.00 both ways (out on the 7th and back the 9th).Originally posted by London Irish

Are you sure as to where the Swiss will play their home game against us
FAI source said Bern. I presume that the rebuilding of the ****dorf will be finished by September.Originally posted by tiktok

Paris Beauvais (BVA)
Date to fly out? Fri, 08 Oct 04
Sorry, there are no available flights going out on Fri, 08 Oct 04

How about a flight to London and the Eurostar to Paris?
Anyone know anything about the quality of service via the tunnel?

it's meant to be very good but i've not travelled on it. you'd still need to get moving peadar, this will be many peoples second option after they see the flights are goneOriginally posted by Peadar

Ryanairs schedule for October is not out yet. That is why the flights are showing as not available
Hurrah.............panic over
although they won't be daft enough to let them go cheaply now that we've all been searching the website for them.![]()
Be prepared for them to breakdown more like it.Originally posted by SÓCcfc

Personally, I think the fixture schedule is horrendous. From a travel perspective, trying to attend all the matches will be a nightmare. I know of several people who will try to do this.
1st Problem:- Fly to Dublin for the Cyprus game, back to London and then fly to Switzerland, not too difficult, but IMO it get worse as the group progresses.
Eurostar to Paris - expensive weekend and then fly to Dublin for the Faroes game in midweek.
Israel at home in June followed by the Faroes away 4 days later
Then the final 2 games in the series Cyprus away and Switzerland at home a few days later.
It is a CRAZY schedule
If anyone can make all 10 games, they should get the freedom of Dublin City
Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporter Club (RISSC London).

I figured as much, cheers Paul.
With only one decent away trip this year I'll be putting a few bob aside each month so even if I have to shell out €350 for Aer Lingus I wont mind too much.
