From what I remember from the last time we played out there, there isn't much craic in Nicosia. You'd be better off going back to the area where you're staying.Originally Posted by MickeyT

Been toying with the idea. I'm basing in Larnaca but wouldnt mind a few beers in Nicosia after the game. How is everyone commuting to Nicosia? Is it feasible to get back to larnaca after the match or should we stay put?Originally Posted by MickeyT

When we were there the last time a lot of the bars ran busses.Originally Posted by Dawn_Run
Taxis were cheap enough and some people hired cars.
It's not a long trip.
Somewhere in the region of an hour as far as I remember.

its not really that far out from nicosia just on the road into nicosia so id say most people will drink in nicosia and head out to match from there handy enough ... either that or few cans around the ground and back to ayia napa for flight home nearly straight after game ...
Just expecting it to be a bit different, plus might squeeze in the cultural aspect of the trip by seeing the green line. After 3 nights in touristy Limassol I reckon it might be good to see a bit of the real Cyprus in Nicosia for a night.Originally Posted by Paulie
As regards buses to Nicosia The Step Inn, and possibly the Welcome Inn in Limassol I seem to remember ran a few buses for the game.
wouldn't mind visiting the Troodos mountains myself, bit of a hike, lovely.Originally Posted by MickeyT

got something similar from dublin though, ccfc girl. 3-12 ( back for swiss game) for €450. I know the guy who own the bhoys bar in Ayia napa through work and he says peak season this year is the first week in october! they are running buses too and apparently will arrange tickets.
Unusual trip, combines a sun holiday with a football trip. personally i prefer city trips, but, the craic will be ninety anyway!

Cansed it at both Basel's, Paris & Tel Aviv so I don't see there being any issue with mass knacker drinking before the game outside the stadium in Nicosia. And there's the added bonus of not dying of thirst in the desert.Originally Posted by donalfitz

Booked flights to Cyprus back in mid April for €370. Same flights are now €440. Package deals may well work out cheaper than sourcing your own flights come September/October.
I doubt there's any left & they are all weekend to weekend from what I've seen anyway so you'd miss the Swiss game.Originally Posted by like a badger

flights still available from cyprusair.com to Larnace for match. Cost €400 Flight only Just for those who are disappointed by not being able to travel to Faroes!!
A gang of 14 of us booked in Feb. There's a few of us going from Dublin via Frankfurt to Larnaca. www.lufthansa.ie might be helpful but the prices could be nuts by now. But i reckon if you use your imagination you'll find a route there. There's a 2nd airport in Paphos on the East side of the island. www.helios-airways.com, for 2nd to 9th Oct is about 250 STG from London. My brother is going on that one.
Hows everyone making it over to this. Packages look to be about €800. Anyone getting it for a lot cheaper doing it themselves?
see above.
dont waste your money on any package, fly indirect and book an apartment.

Hi,
Anyone know of anywhere I can get a flight only to Cyprus for the game in Oct?
I've searched the net and can't seem to find anywhere?
Thanks
