well for all intents and purposes its as good as inside the ground, probably closer to the action than the upper west or east in landsdowne

not so sure about 300 people tho, I would say there are more people like T_P and Cowboy, with a couple of applications between them. heres hopin anyway
to be honest, I am nervous about gettin a ticket, but as far as the numbers go, I recon the hill would be a great spot, few big flags and a few big flagons to match

The Football Association of Ireland has been informed by the Faroe Islands FA that the World Cup Qualifier against the Faroe Islands on June 8 will kick off at 7.30pm.

The game will take place at the Torsvollur Stadium in Torshavn.

The game is the second in a five day period for the Republic of Ireland, who play Israel in Lansdowne Road on the previous Saturday, June 4.

Looking at this link and the attendance for the game (4,000) when the Scots visited, it could be that the only people that will be on the hill are those too stingy to buy a ticket.

According to this site the ground holds 7,000.

Looking at some of the scorelines that The Faroes had in their home games in that group this game might be harder than we think. I was at the 0-0 in Liechtenstein a few years ago and I really think that nobody should ever have to endure more than one result/match like that in their lives.

Did anybody else get word regarding tickets? I got home to find a letter from the FAI to say they could not accomodate my application for 3 tickets due to the huge demand. They are saying they only got 600 tickets Looks like i'll be watching the game from the hill. Why don't we rename the hill, hill 16 or something.

Our game is not being played at the same ground where Scotland played. They played at Toftir, we are playing at Torsvollur, apparently a new ground but still only holds just under 7000.

Im really sorry about that. ive not had any news yet, so i could still be joining you on the hill. As soon as i know where we stand with Tickets, will let you know. Also worth baring in mind, Id hope that alot of the supporters associaytion wont get rid of all their allocation, alot of people who would normally go on away trips arent bothering with this one, so they may have spares. Fingers crossesd some one can sort you out.

for anyone who needs it, the address for booking the faroes campsite is:

    torsinfo[at]post.olivant.fo

balls, just phoned the FAI, and Emma told me that I had been unsuccessful in by application - any assistance to get a ticket (one, just the one) would be greatly appreciated

missed out on world cup tickets too

Not a good day on the ticket front

The wife has just said "ah sure you'll just have to watch it on telly" . . . not what you want to hear really.
Throw in the WC disappointment today and . . . I'm toying with taking out Uruguayan citizenship or something!
I should have just picked a piddly country that's guaranteed to qualify yet there won't be any of the fans there, that way I'd have got a TST.
Maybe I'm not making sense here becaused I'm so hacked off, but I'm still going to Germany regardless.

Hey now, enough of that kinda talk. We will all see the game, one way or another. It is really gutting - got told by email yesterday, then the letter arrived today confirming it

So we are all in the same boat, and we will all have a great trip, and we will all see the game. Im off to email the Faroe islands FA, and see what the craic is with their tickets and the allocations.
