One game, six years ago. It was great to see, I don't deny that, but it doesn't happen very often, and definitely doesn't happen when the destination is a bit harder to reach. I know the prices are bad, but I'd love to see more support on a regular basis. If people are talking about the fact that the team lacks some kind of tradition, having a good and regular fanbase is a good way to start too.

The team has been really hyped lately, and combine that with Ireland being quite a preferred tourism spot for Israelis lately, that's not a bad combination.
What about Israelis living abroad? Also non-Israeli Jews? Jewish Chronicle and London Jewish News both have reports about the recent games in their papers, and JC website (also Israeli clubs etc). Seems to me that there must be some form of interest in Israeli football amongst their readership for both papers to carry reports. Also, Iran sold out their section even though I can't see that many of them flew in from Iran. They liked their drink too much.

There are many of Israeli who live in the UK, and even a few hundreds in The Republic of Ireland, but I don't see many of them pay about 100 pounds for a football match...

well they'll be made perfectly welcome regardless of where they are travelling from.

Cyprus is only an hour flight from Israel ffs!!! its not like the six hours between TA and Dublin! I reckon anywhere between 8000-15000 will travel for our game in Cyprus in October dependig, on results in the meant time.

Tbat's for flight and a night's hotel and match ticket...I think. You'll need another £100 to buy a round of drinks though.

I meant 100 pounds for flights from western Europe, accomodation for a one night in Dublin, match ticket and transfers between airport, hotel and Lansdown Road.
I think it will be even more exspensive...

Well, considering the prices of charter flights between Israel and Dublin are usually about 500$... although I know that over the last holiday there have been packages in much lower prices. I'm guessing we won't be so lucky for the game, though. Last year's ULEB Cup final in Belgium was 700$ for two nights and a direct flight, and it was probably in the most yucky town in Europe, and surly not as expansive as Dublin.

And again you just prove my point - the teams in Israel get much more support than the national ones. We've seen incredible amounts of fans follow MTA and Hapoel Jerusalem (last year), as well as the soccer teams which played abroad, but the national team hardly gets that kind of massive support.

The Berci showdown was really impressive though, as well as having half the hall in red last year in the Uleb Cup, or seeing the HTA fans following their team, I'd just want to see the same tradition develops around the national team.
