Thanks lads for the advice. Have we a venue in mind for thursday night?

Can't wait to taste Maccabi lager....

I think most hotels are around Hayrkon street? Does any one know if Molly Bloom's will show the Pats - Gypos game on Friday night?

We have to be at the airport in Dublin at 3.30am Thursday Anyone want to meet at the airport bar at about midnight for a few scoops? No point dragging someone out of bed at that hour for a lift

Exclamation extremly importent notification for the party!!!!!!!

    dear friends!!!

Due to the estimation that thousands of Israelies and Irish will arrive to the party, and since the police restrict the capacty to only 2500 fans - we moved the party 300 meters north to "Sportek north" on Ibn Gavirol st. and Rokach Blv.
The party at the park will be able to perceive the estimation of about 10,000+- .
Another great news is that many students (yes yes also female students..) will be there - so dont forget the new loction!!
You can also print the invition...

    Chat up lines?

When I'm abroad on holiday I don't really believe in them, just rely on my charm, sense of humour, good looks and craic. If I'm struggling I'll ask her what she does for a living, then when I'm asked the same question I respond. I find that usually works a treat if all else fails!

You missed your cue to ask me what I do for a living!
I'm a firefighter, but as I said I only divulge this as a last resort Would never think of using this when chatting up women!

Let's remember that everyone travelling to Tel Aviv is going firstly to support the Irish team and then whatever happens after that will take care of itself. We all know how to party but we really need to get behind Brian and the boys and make lots of noise inside the ground, then we can concentrate on chatting up the locals.

yup, lots of noise and support is crucial to the boys, they work well under conditions like that.

You can also claim tax back (VAT) at the airport once you have your VAT vouchers.

As for the Israeli invasion of the website, the more the merry as long as they do not start trying to sell us stuff, no problem with happy hours and good deals, still waiting to hear of a good fry up .

Kobby, I think the party bit has got a bit diluted..it seems it is more a Purim party, than a welcome the Irish party, not to worry once there is free beer and friendly people, a good time will be had by all.

    Travel

    Thanks for the information Israeli-g
Is it hard to get to Caesarea .The only train station I saw was Caesarea - Pardes-Hana(Caesarea - northern industry park ). Is the amphitheatre far from the train station, there seems to be no taxi service at the station.
I am hoping to travel to Jerusalem on Friday.
I believe I can get a shabbat to jerusalem on the eastern side of the bus station. How much would a shabbat cost to jerusalem and how early do they operate.Do they fill up quickly ??
I am also planning a visit to Yad Vashem, the bad news is that the new muesem does not open until March 27th and on Friday when I planned to go, it closes early at 2pm, so I will need to get my skates on..

The U21 game is at 3pm local time in Herzliya - north of Tel Aviv. You will have a very short trip to Jerusalem if you think you can make that as well.

    Check out Time Changes

Folks be careful re time changes for those with early flights on Sunday morning.

It is my understanding that Israel does not change until April 1st but back home will change on Saturday night. I think this is why my flight now departs at 6am on Sunday and not 7am as originally scheduled.

Maybe one of our Israeli friends could confirm.

you are right, Israel don't change to Summer time until April, so there will be no change in flight times here...

Caesarea is close to my home (I live about 5 minutes driving from there). There're no bus stations over there, the only way to get there is by touring with a group, a taxi or... someone you know can take you there.
The amphitheatre and the Old City are sure worth to see! If you'd like - I can help you with that, pick you up at the train station with my car (sorry, not the best car, an old one, but it's still a car), make a tour with you in Caesarea (maybe even in Zichron Ya'akov) and take you back to the train station. Write me to my e-mail, if you'd like me to help you and I'll be glad to assist!
