What is the cheapest,easiest and safest way to get to the stadium from Hayarkon St.
Will the 222 bus will bring you from the airport straight to Hayarkon St.How much does it cost.
If I get the train,how much will it cost and how far will it leave me from Hayarkon.

You should get bus number 222, most of the station's are in Hayarkon street. Dont take me by the word but the bus should not cost you more then 30 NIS imo ( i dont know , but i dont believe it costs more then this price).Originally Posted by tall chapy

If you travel with some friends or you meet some here in israel , a taxi is defently what you need. Actully , you don't have any other option in public transportation because buses don't work on saterdays here. I'f your travelling alone and you don't want to go alone in a taxi for whatever reason i can only tell you to group with other people and go with them. But the game is still one month and a half from now so im positive that someone from Israel will send you privite buses because everyone knows that that will be a problem.
On the way back you could use the bus to your hotel ( because Shabat will be "out" already , and buses work at that time ).
From the list of the hotels you gace the best ones IMO are : Basel and Tal

Getting the train from the Airport. Could I get off at the north railway station between the Haifa road and Ayalon. Then walk down Ariosoroff. or is this too long to walk ??
Unfortunately, I'll be travelling on my own and most that are travelling will have transfers to andf from the match as part of the deal.
So it looks like a Taxi, does public transport not start back up after 6pm on the Shabat. At a guess how much would a taxi cost from Hayarkon to the stadium.

Actually, you can get off the Train in the University station, but you can't walk from there , its too long IMO ( at least 6 KM ) . What you can do is to get off in the University station and then get a bus line 47 or 247 and that will take you to Hayarkon street . But :
1. Depend's when you land...and if Buses work at that hour.
2. It will be hard for you to find the station that you need to go on the Bus. You would probably need some one to guide you because the bus station you need to go on is 5 Meters from an amusment park and the train station is like 750 Meters Away .
Taxi will be the best way for you imo.
Actually you are right, You will have public buses before and after the game.
You will need to take line 47 or 247 ( the other way around ) , and you need to get of in the amusment park. there you will see people walking to the stadium so you could follow them , but if not : Ask some one how to get to the water park ( the amusment park is not the water park ) its 1 KM away from each other. When you will get to the water park you will already see the stadium.
Sorry but in Israel our pulic transport sucks. Only now there are planing and starting to build a "metro" in jerusalem , and in Tel aviv they will start only in 5 years.
A taxi from your hotel to the stadium should cost you around 40-50 NIS i guess , and on the bus it will cost you 7 NIS .

What is the best way to get to Jerusalem. I am planning on going to there on Good Friday (March 25th).Being Easter, I guess it would be hectic. In your opinion, and Security wise, Would there be much hassle going in to west Jerusalem, I know most of the Arab shops will be closed being their Shabat.
I'd say Bus is the easiest way to get there, but I am a bit wary of travelling on the Bus.

Here we have a problem.
There are no train's to Jerusalem ( there was a train to Jerusalem a few years ago but it wasn't good business to the train's because no-one took a train because the line it took was too long about 1 and a half hours, now we are bulding a direct line from Tel aviv to Jerusalem in 28 minutes. but when you get here it won't be finished )
About buses, its a little funny that in Tel Aviv your 'ok' with going with a bus and to Jerusalem your not. Taxi's will be expencive and i wouldn't advise you to take one.
I read that the Israeli tourist office will operate buses ( privet ones ) from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. If not that there are for sure trips for one day to Jerusalem.
If you insist on going alone and not with a group , so the only choise you have ( after you didn't want buses or taxi's ) is to go by footits only 65 KM away
There is another solution . there is this thing : shuttle taxi's. It is a "big" taxi ...takes 10 people , but it is similare to a bus....you go on and off and you don't tell to the driver where to drop you off because he drives in a "line". This is actually a bus , and he drives in the same way ....but its small and you shouldn't be afraid of takeing it ( although also regualar buses are safe this days ) .

Where are the 30000 that went to Paris. Too much trouble? Other things to do?. No doubt the missing 28000 or so will be doing some squealing about tickets for the France game in Dublin!

The U21 game will be played in Herzliya at 3pm local time on Friday March 25th.
We arrive that morning at 6am so presumably plenty of time to make it after checking into our Tel Aviv hotel.
We had been hoping for a night game to allow time to visit Jerusalem but now it's a simple choice of visiting a fabulous city full of culture and history and steeped in the tradition of 3 main faiths or going to watch our U21s. No contest - Herzliya it is.
Until they change the block booking to include away games or set up a seperate block booking system for away games this will always be the case.

I assume you, like myself, are a block booker and, like myself, have been for some time and also travel regualrly to away games. Therefore we are well up the pecking order for tickets.
Of the 18000 BB's, there are relatively very few who regularly travel to away games. Of the others when they do it is only to the most 'prestigious' games (e.g Basle 2003) but their BB status gives them priority over regular 'away' fans who are not BB's. Is it right they should get that priority?
Similarly, several of these regular 'away' fans have been going to away games for many years. Many previously had the chance to become BB's but declined as they are not interested in going to games in Dublin, except for the most 'prestigious' games (e.g France this October). Should they have any priority claim for the 'hot' ticket for homes games over those who regularly go to all home games, friendly or competitive?
There are also an increasing number who are now going regularly to away games and who would like to go to home games but are not BB's and are not likely to be while we are playing at 'old' Lansdowne. I dont know how you accommodate this group for games like the France home game in October, unless it is played in CP of course!
In the meantime, the FAI ought to be ensuring their ticket database is up to date and assuming the number of BB's will increase with 'new' Lansdowne, then priority for the allocation of any extra BB's will be given to those who (a) have their names on the waiting list and (b) have a record of buying tickets for away games.
I believe the number of people who regularly actually go or who would go, if they could get tickets, to home and away games, competitive and friendlies is probably no more than a few hundred and certainly less than 1000, as was evidenced at the Georgia/Albania games in the 2002 WCQ's.

although in many ways it was great to see such support in Paris last october many of the 35,000 or so who went were away match novices who will also jump on the world cup band wagon should we qualify. this will make getting tickets for the finals all the harder. its definately time for the fai to set up an away match (including wc finals) loyalty system or a travel club of some sorts. i'll probably end up being at every one of these qualifiers and if i cant get wc tickets after that i'll be livid!!
Because Most of the traveller's will sleep in Hayrkon street , i think it will be the place for you people.

is it safe to assume everyone who applied online will get tickets? Or am I giving the FAI too much credit?
And seeing as the game is on the 89th anniversary of the Easter Rising, does anyone know how many people were in the GPO?
I think it is safe to assume that every applicant will get every ticket they asked for.
I think the cirrent system is actually much fairer than ther IRFU or GAA ticket allocation systems however it should take account in some way of regular travelling fans. Appreciate some don't want home tickets.
