Kerr spoke about the difficulties of getting there but reminded people how it was a beautiful country and how the players would really appreciate the support

I'm thinking about flying to Sharem-el-Sheik in Egypt, flight pretty cheap stay there for a few days then go up through Jordan see Petra etc then cross the
border into Israel see Jerusalem and then onto Tel-Aviv for the game.

I know that FAI asked from IFA to send all of the tickets to Dublin! so at least 5,000 Irish supporters plan to arrive to Israel.

Afraid not Eldad as these tickets can be returned unsold as is the practice amongst most countries

Eldad, I may have missed this earlier on, but can you confirm the Kick-Off time. The FAI are quoting 1700 local time. Is this correct? I thought I saw somewhere previously that the kick-off would not be until at least 1900 local time?

For sure the kick-off time won't be at 5:00pm!
Shabbat ends after 5pm & the national team can't play before 1 hours after Shabbat ends.
I can't confirm the kick-off time, but I can guess it will be at 7:00pm, because 9:00pm is the news time of Israel's TV channel 1...

Eldad, thanks, I have much more faith in you than in the FAI. If we depended on them, we would be lucky to get the date right, never mind the time.

Superhoops, in relation to this post i felt it necessary to back your point up about the FAI getting a date wrong and to trust Eldad

"REPUBLIC OF IRELAND V FRANCE (WORLD CUP QUALIFYING FIXTURE)

Saturday, September 7 2005. Kick Off TBC

This fixture is sold out. "

This is pasted in from the FAI site. If you notice they have the day wrong. The 7th of September according to my calender is a Wednesday. France are against the Faroes i think on Sat 3rd Sep.
They could of hardly backed your point up anymore.

Tel-Aviv is partly shut down at Shabbat (from Friday at 16:00 to Saturday at 18:00). No public transportation (apart of taxis) & most of stores are closed; Entertainment (cinema, restrants, pub, ect.) are opened.
If you plan to walk around Tel-Aviv on Saturday you will not feel any problem.

I believe this information to be almost entirely correct.
