I'm thinking about flying to Sharem-el-Sheik in Egypt, flight pretty cheap stay there for a few days then go up through Jordan see Petra etc then cross the
border into Israel see Jerusalem and then onto Tel-Aviv for the game.
I think it'l be a better trip than Albania/Georgia was![]()

not really off-topic and thanks for passing on Kerrs views. its a massive game but cant see more than 1,500 - 2,000 max going unfortunately. going myself and cant wait. anyone got a rough idea / guess how many will travel??Originally Posted by Maribor
I know that FAI asked from IFA to send all of the tickets to Dublin! so at least 5,000 Irish supporters plan to arrive to Israel.Originally Posted by jbyrne
The way i see here people talking i can't see more than 2000 , although i wish much more will come.Originally Posted by Eldad
I hope im wrong , because the people that will be in Israel will tell you that you missed a really good trip....( IMO )
Afraid not Eldad as these tickets can be returned unsold as is the practice amongst most countriesOriginally Posted by Eldad

Ya there's still places left on the tour, so Tel-aviv here I come!
I think me and my buddy are going too, just waiting on new credit card to arrive
Eldad, I may have missed this earlier on, but can you confirm the Kick-Off time. The FAI are quoting 1700 local time. Is this correct? I thought I saw somewhere previously that the kick-off would not be until at least 1900 local time?Originally Posted by Eldad

As far as i know the standupfor.... tour will be staying in the basel hotel in tel Aviv for those that may be interested
For sure the kick-off time won't be at 5:00pm!Originally Posted by Superhoops

I can't confirm the kick-off time, but I can guess it will be at 7:00pm, because 9:00pm is the news time of Israel's TV channel 1...
Eldad, thanks, I have much more faith in you than in the FAI. If we depended on them, we would be lucky to get the date right, never mind the time.Originally Posted by Eldad

this may have been dealt with previously and excuse my ignorance if its a stupid question but will Tel Aviv shut down on the saturday of the match until 5pm??Originally Posted by Eldad

"REPUBLIC OF IRELAND V FRANCE (WORLD CUP QUALIFYING FIXTURE)
Saturday, September 7 2005. Kick Off TBC
This fixture is sold out. "
This is pasted in from the FAI site. If you notice they have the day wrong. The 7th of September according to my calender is a Wednesday. France are against the Faroes i think on Sat 3rd Sep.
They could of hardly backed your point up anymore.

Tel-Aviv is partly shut down at Shabbat (from Friday at 16:00 to Saturday at 18:00). No public transportation (apart of taxis) & most of stores are closed; Entertainment (cinema, restrants, pub, ect.) are opened.Originally Posted by jbyrne

You are talking about the match in Dublin...Originally Posted by GK for the Town
