So it would be very exciting to be in TA on Friday night. Jerusalem is more religious city so many pubs and clubs will be closed.
Drunk and wearing funny clothes. !!!!!! We'll fit right in then.

Staying in Tel Aviv both nights but will probably rent a car for the 48 hours I'll be in the country.

I've been checking out the prices of getting to Israel, leave Dublin on Friday and go back on the Sunday, the cheapest i have found so far is Euro 882. This is with a stop over in Heathrow both ways, is this the average price or am i looking in the wrong places ?

Not trying to put anyone off, but Tel Aviv isn't exactly the safest place on the planet at the moment.

Ye maybe it would be better to leave it for a while and see whats gonna happen. Will they change it to Cyprus or somewhere along those lines i wonder.

Ask Aer Lingus and Ryanair if they plan to operate charter flight from Dublin to Tel-Aviv... It should be cheaper.

    Tel Aviv

Only certain airlines can fly into telaviv - similar to the restrictions flying to USA
Ryanair have no rights, also none of their planes can fly that distance.
Aer Lingus have no planes available.
Remember it is easter weekend and a very busy time for airlines and also the insurance costs for flying into tel aviv are pretty steep!

Did I hear correctly that it was the first bombing of the kind in Tel Aviv in over a year?
With homicide practically non existant within Israel that would make the murder rate probably between 5-10 for the year(I'm estimasting here),if this were the case wouldn't there be more of a risk going to Belfast or Limerick for the game?
    <insert witty remark>

thats a great deal, Czech airlines go from a few UK airports to Prague for fairly cheap as well (Manchester for certain). Could be useful for any UK based fans.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

For UK-based fans I recommed to check out the fares of Turkish Airlines from LHR or Manchester to Tel-Aviv via Istanbul... They are very cheap for tickets from Israel... I don't know their fare if you fly from UK.
    http://www.thy.com
    Turkish Airlines internet fare:
    1 TK1996 MAN IST 13:25 / 25.Mar 19:20 / 25.Mar Friday T
    2 TK1192 IST TLV 23:55 / 25.Mar 02:05 / 25.Mar Friday T
    ----
    3 TK1193 TLV IST 06:30 / 27.Mar 08:45 / 27.Mar Sunday S
    4 TK1995 IST MAN 10:20 / 27.Mar 12:25 / 27.Mar Sunday S
    ----
    307.90 GBP taxes included.

Also, El-Al fly from Stansted and LHR to Tel-Aviv.
Internet fare from STA to TLV is 536 GBP (round trip)... But maybe it is possible to find cheaper fare tru travel agent.
El-Al offers 241 GBP from round trip STA-TLV-STA if you fly at 25/3 and come back at 1/4... That's the reason that I believe that 536 GBP is a mistake...

Another not very exspensive option is to fly with MALEV via Budapest.
MALEV operates daily schedule flights both from DUB to BUD and from BUD to TLV!

    http://www.malev.hu

They also fly to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham & London.

An information that my father got by e-mail from the Israeli embassy in Dublin:

Football Fever Builds up in Anticipation of Match next Year

A Football Association of Ireland delegation comprising Ray Treacy, travel advisor and Eddy Corcoran, Liason Officer returned recently from a fact-finding trip to Israel. They brought home the news that 4,200 tickets would be available for Irish fans wishing to travel to the World Cup qualifier between Israel and Ireland in Tel Aviv on March 26th next. This falls during Easter and the Jewish festival of Purim. The stadium hold in Ramat Gan holds 42,000 and Israeli football officials are predicting a full house for this vital match.

A report in the tabloid press this week suggested that as many as 30,000 Irish might travel posing headaches for those seeking tickets.

A group of expats from the Irish Jewish community scattered worldwide have mooted a reunion in Israel to coincide with the match
