I'm asking because there is a thing called Click&Rail:

    https://www.sbb.ch/imgmyticket/help_faq_e.htm

Geneva-Basel airport and back is CHF 140, a one-way ticket is CHF 76. If you can use Click&Rail, it's CHF 24 one way. Click&Rail trains are usually early in the morning, around noon or in the late afternoon.

On Thursday 26 for example it will be:

    Basel SBB 11h24
    Genève-Aéroport 14h21

You can book two days beforehand, read the FAQ.

Even if you can use Click&Rail for one way only, it's still much cheaper than a return ticket. This is where you can book tickets:

Still cheap flights going with Ryan air from Stansted

Got mine a few weeks ago , but you can still get flights to Baden-Baden (south germany ) for about £50 return (going out Tuesday morning , back thursday night). Train from Baden-Baden to Basel is 90 minutes

There are also international Click&Rail tickets:

    https://www.sbb.ch/myticket/indexInt...ationalCR1.jsp

Düsseldorf-Zurich ist CHF 45, the train stops at Basel Badischer Bahnhof (German railway station in Basel).

I had seen that, was going to book that way but only one way (flying out to Basel anyway), does that mean I would have to pay CHF 76 to get an earlier train down instead of CHF 24 at 11.24? Was wondering how to change the train that it had selected to an earlier service... you would definitely reccomend booking this way if I had an idea of the time I wished to travel?

Exactly. You can't change to another train. It might however be a different train on September 9, I don't know how often that changes (probably not that often). You will have to check on September 7.

If you're sure you want to travel at 11.24, Click&Rail is an excellent option. Just read the FAQ carefully!

Four Tickets Available for the Swiss Match

I've got four tickets from the FAI allocation for the match in Basle but I've left it a little too late to sort out my travel arrangements etc so unfortunately I'm not going to be needing them now.

If anyone out there wants them they can have them for the face value no probs. Shame to see them go to waste.

Thanks for clearing that up... if I couldn't get an early train down I'd probably bypass Geneva and stay on the train til the airport - sure I can't duty free shop all I want then!!

As far as I remember the beer is between 5 and 7 or 8 euros. Due to over indulgence last time around I can't be more specific I'm afraid.

Shop around for Beers cause I was in a place there that sold beers for 3 euro for a pint and they gave us free pizza too, its across teh road from the train statino to the left as you come out. Good buzz there too before the match as well and much cheaper than the irish bar.

    Beer...

As far as I remember the beer was alot more expensive in the bars where the Irish fans were expected to congregate (outside that Irish bar in the marque in particular)...

    Beer Prices in Swiss Francs

Coud someone please indicate how much beer will cost in swiss francs.

Everyone seems to be stating euro's, I know I could convert but just wondering what the prices were last time we played them.

Also is anyone staying in the Baslertor Swiss Q Hotel Basel because thats where were staying anyway. Does anyone know if this is near the stadium?

I sent the Mosaic crowd an email to see if the tickets are guaranteed. Here is the response I got:

Following your e-mail, be sure that the tickets are guaranteed. We order quota of tickets directly from the producers, before we put on sale. Once the number of tickets we have reserved is running out we stop the sale or we order another quota of tickets according to the availability. That’s why we cannot make over booking.

Regarding your request for the Event-Pas, this is an envelop which contains your tickets and the practical information to get to the match venue.

We remain at your disposition for any further information,

    Best regards,

After euroteam last year I'm still dubious but it sounds promising.

Last week, there were loads of people on this site giving out that they coudl not get a ticket for the swiss match and giving out about the FAI etc. However I have put up a post about spare tickets for face value for the Irish end and the Swiss end and nobody is interested in buying them. Where have all the people who were given out gone. Obviously they have got tickets somehow, so were they just letting of steam for the fun of it or was it just hopping on the anti FAI bandwagon for the sake of it.
