    Swiss tickets

Gspain, where did you hear that the general public weren't getting tickets mate. they don't make it easy for us. Do they not appreciate the hardship we go through to get to these places midweek.

try www.ticketcorner.ch - seat in with the swiss but there are a couple of people who post on here sitting in the swiss end

to be fair clubs are only required to offer about 10 % of the ground to away fans so i guess both the swiss and the french are playing things by the books.

Thank heavens for ticketcorner. I only applied last thursday night and 4 tickets arrived in dublin this morning. I just checked my email when i got in from tonights game and theres a mail from the fai telling me that i was not successful again.

Surely there should be some kind of loyalty scheme for those fans that travel to all away games. The problem is "loyalty" is a dirty word where the fai are concerned.

in the email i got it stated all 3,200 tickets went to blockbookers thats fair enough if its true but i wonder how many tickets went to Uncle Ray.

Anyway heading to basle on monday the 6th comming back thursday the 9th.
flights accomodation match tickets all sorted. Heres hoping for a good result.

Talking How To Get Your Tickets !

Hi everyone , its my first time on this forum, very useful. Im a member of the RISSC but as usual didnt get any tickets in the ballot. I followed the link to the ticketcorner website and bought a pair of tickets behind the goal without any problems (now have to wait to see how long it takes to deliver). Its not too difficult (thanks to my german girlfriend !) . I would guess that the category behind the goal will be in the swiss end , but by the looks of things there will be so many irish fans out there (as usual) it will probably be like a home game.

My advice is , if you want to go , get on their site as soon as possible and grab those tickets.

good luck , see you in BASEL !!!

    Keith

Got this email yesterday .. as I suspect more people did ...
Tickets still available though at ticketcorner .. like myself, I think a lot of people are milling into the swiss end..

Thank you for your application for tickets for the above fixture.

Due to the extensive number of people wishing to travel to this fixture and
the limited number of tickets we have been allocated by the Swiss FA (3,200
which is our entitlement of 10% of the capacity) we are only in a position
to allocate tickets to those persons currently holding a block booking for
our Home Internationals at Lansdowne road.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and again thank you for your
    continued interest and support.

Davros, to be fair to the FAI, the block booking system is teh fairest way possible. How do u reckon they should do it.

I don't think anyone is arguing against the Block bookers getting priority, However, I think Dav shares my cynicism that it'll be Ray Treacy and not the Block Bookers that'll end up with those reserved tickets.

oh well lads in the swiss end it is, sod the fai lets make the most of it

if this is the problem with 3200 trickets i cant wait for the fun when they work out how to dish out the 8000 tickets between 23000 applicants for the france game.

I dont see what the problem 4,500 into 3,200 does not go so as a result 1,300 people are going to be dissappointed and have to buy tickets in the swiss end, My tickets for the swiss end arrived the other day about 3 days after ordering cant argue with that.

The issue I have with the block booking (as many others do) is that it is almost impossible to become one as it is over subscribed. Also there are more block bookers than tickets so even if you are one , its no gaurantee of getting a ticket.

Also , the mail states that the tickets are going to those who are block bookers for home games which I think is wrong. Surely those who continually support the team on away games (albanias and the like) should have some sort of standing.

Nowadays if you want a ticket its best to just go to the opposition and buy it from them

The facts are that, 12 months ago I wrote a letter to the FAI, requesting that I be put on the block booking list. I got a mail back saying that it was full, but that they would put me on the waiting list. As a result I was offered tickets to the 3 friendlies in teh spring. When i took them up i was then offered tickets to the next 3 games, Bulgaria, Faroes and Cyprus. Therefore it is worth your while putting yoru name down on the list.

I do agree that there should be a Travel Club like the Tartan Army have, where travelling around Europe supporting your team is rewarded with tickets. At the moment, the home block booking is not a perfect system for away matches but it is not unfair either. I have a post on another thread about how this system could work.

It would be interesting to know just how many Block Bookers go to the away games. For me , living outside London , every game is away !

well if only 10 per cent of block bookers went to games that would still take up the allocation for this match
