It's unlikely to be there again and at such an early stage in the competition I'd bet the atmosphere wont be anywhere near what it was the last time. I've been dying for Ireland to play in Paris since France 98.

i had a look at that site this morning, they are not booking as far ahead as october yet, but i did a quote for going out saturday morning and back sunday some time in march.

the price worked out at about £70 stg / e100 plus if you live in ireland you have the trouble of getting to england first then getting to london to get the train.... long old day lads

Tickets should be easier to come by, better than Switzerland last year. Stade de France hold about 80,000, therefore we should get between 8 and 10 thousand tickets. hopefully

    switz game

the switz game is nearly 100% to be in basel ! they have played all there competitive international for the last two qualifying comps in basel and the footballing support in switz lies in he north wheras they would only play friendlies in geneva as football is not supported well down there !

Paddy Reillys here we come !

AT least we know the real fans will be in switz unlook a lot of those who went to switz in oct just cause it was the crucial game "

Switzeralnd have tended to move there games around the country in the past, their ECQ against Albania was played in Geneva. I think they have had some construction work going on, on one of their other major stadiums.

I assume there was a reason behind the FAI stating that the game was likely to be in Berne??

Paddy Reillys Oirish Bar, thats right, its where all the 'real' fans hang out

Agree, there is going to be no where near the demand for this game as there was for the last one.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

    switz

sorry for mentioning the irish bar in basel ! god i am not a real for for that now !

the stadium in geneva is the same size as the one in basel but very unlikely to be played there !

Berne does not look like an option as no international played there for a while.

The fact that the game in oct went off without a hitch ( except the game ) means it is likely to be used again !

The whole rush for the brazil tickets and the lack of rush that will happen for the switz game is a bit sickening ! where do all these people come out of the woodwork from?

Read in the Star or was it the Sun that the manager,Topmuller is it,said he wanted to remain in Basel for the next campaign. He's right too cos it's a good little ground for holding in noise and waving flags slowly and shouting Hopp Schwiss.

We booked flights to Karlsruhe and are driving down.Nice little deal costing less thatn E110 (ps anyone how do I get the euro symbol?it's on the 4 on the keyboard but so is the $ sign and that's all I can get)

Don't think Topmuller is the manager, believe it is Jacob Kuhn. Topi is in charge if SV Hamburg

Yeah Kobi Kuhn sorry.I don't know what I was thinking with Topmuller,he was that curly haired Leverkusen coach.

O1K,turns out that I'm actually flying to Friedrichs (not 100% on the name) instead cos it's closer to Swiss.I personally didn't book it but I'm nearly sure we're going with Ryanair for a lovely price.

Nah it's not that, but Irish bars are such rip-off joints and they're full of the event junkies. Avoid them at all cost. You don't need a £5 pint of Guinness that badly?

Asking why such a demand for Brazil and suddenly none for Switzerland? The first cos it's Brazil. Hey wait a minute I saw Ireland v Brazil 17 years ago and there was half a full stadium (if you read the post match reports at the Irish or British Library you will read - and I am tempted to bet one of my cojones on this - that the England v Scotland game on TV hampered the attendance ). The second is that it's midweek. Cheap rates at golf clubs means the event junkies will stay in Ireland, not that they really give a f*ck.

Paris is set to be the event junkies trip. Saturday game. Close by. No war zones. Good job they've got a 80K stadium.
