    IE6 message

Take it you've weighed in behind other sites and starting encouraging people to upgrade from IE6?
Unfortunately I'm stuck with it in work until our IT department decide otherwise. I'm guessing I'm stuck with the message too?

It's a tricky one tbh, IE6 is downright dangerous at this stage so the consensus seems to be that sites need to come together to bully people into changing, if necessary via the poor users that don't have direct control over the issue. I'm guessing the morons in (bad) IT departments will argue that it's non-critical sites that are running the campaign, but that ignores the underlying issue.

I implemented this because I thought the message could be hidden, does that not persist over page views?

Gone, sorry. I still want to implement this though, I'll see if there's a way of doing it slightly less obtrusively, perhaps once a day.

Once a day would be fine. Make it more obtrusive though, like a scroll-out one that covers a fair bit of the screen for a few seconds every day.
