Yeah stupid IT industry alright, it'll never catch on.
Doesn't mean (some) people don't work for their wages though.

3rd highest actually (yesterdays Examiner was where I read that).
As for the comment about wage increases, it makes you sound like a member of the Small Firms Association. How apt that their initials spell out SFA, seeing as that lot would like to see everyone getting paid Sweet F**k All!!

Cracker programme IMO. Especially the stand-up cut scenes. Getting his €2 stolen - brilliant. ****in meself laughing at/with(?) him. The programme also helps point out the pathetically low minimum wage in this country. And €60 for his medication. That's not on. (All health care should be provided free by the State). And while he would have been worse off on minimum wage over in Yankeeland, that's nothing to be proud of. IMO, minimum wage should be, at the very least, €10 an hour.
He's in a hotel in Dublin next week. Looking forward to it.

I'd be very surprised if someone on minimum wage in the Republic of Ireland isn't entitled to a Medical Card?
Bishop is only pretending to be on minimum wage so he probably doesn't qualify.

yeah, I'd agree, but it helps to make the point that 60euro expenses can appear out of the blue, and what that means to someone who's on minimum wage.

I'm a student, and I don't qualify for one (which I think is a disgrace). I think the card only covers the cost of medicine up to a certain value anyway. Anyone know their stuff a bit better?

I read an interview with him recently, and he said that Dublin was the worst place for money (though Tralee was up there), so it should be fun.

I'd be very suprised if they do.... Limit is €142.50 per week, so that's just over 20 hours a week at €7....

    Thanks!

Full-time students aged 16-25 who are financially dependent on their parents would only be entitled to a medical card if their parents held a medical card. Students who are financially independent of their parents, e.g., they have income from part-time work, and who satisfy the means test may be entitled to a medical card. In this case, the health board where the student is attending college would issue the medical card.
Must look into this again. The key point is what exactly constitutes "financially independent".

I think minimum wage job are really designed for part-timers & students 'n such. However no one on minimum wage should pay any tax at all but FF ain't achieved much with regards that in their time in power.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

He is a comedian who was living in Cork for about 4-5 years and moved to Dublin as he was getting more TV work.

He is from New York and moved here when he was 12 or something like that.

He has a very convicing Cork twang when he wants and i'm sure he'll have picked up a few more along his travels.

Still has his American twang and will always be reminded of this a lá Abra programme the other night. Typical though.

The programme is provoking debate and probably spell out a few things for a few people in the process ..... now if he could only re-enforce the message and ask people to go out and vote to try and change their situations.

Then we might have some fun !!

He actually went to school in Blackrock College, hence the equally convincing D4 rugger bugger accent.....
