grahame carey was in gaols last year and the other night against shannon.
I taught he was an out field player he certain is not a keeper. And park could be well out of the race for the league by the time november comes along. bit of a risk ....no?

I think it's clown time of the year is it.

    champions of shannon

shannon town win wesly webb on penalties
match finished 1-1 shannon town were better team on the night and probally should have won match in normal time as ref denied them a blatent penalty when jamie egan was taken out with shoulder charge in last 10 -15 mins.. bunratty struggled to create many chances and seemed to rely on long ball over the top to forwards. town opened scoring when direct free kick came back of post and rebound scrambled in.. bunratty equalised from penalty spot after o'connell hacked down by town centre half fla.. 1-1 half time but town looked the more dangerous in second half with introduction of jamie egan causing bunratty plenty of problems with his pace ...

bunratty penalties terrible 3 missed ...

Have to agree with Quigmire regarding this 'blatent penalty' Shannon Town should've had. That was no way a penalty, it was an excellent and fair challenge.

Thought the final was the best game of the tournament, between the 2 strongest teams. It was a good fair battle, and both tried to play football but the surface was terrible. Both teams look to have very strong panels and should do very well this season. Jamie Egan, looked very dangerous when he came on but in my opinion it was no penalty, clear shoulder to shoulder. Bunratty's penalties were terrible. well done to Shannon town on running a very good tournament and winning it.

I think it was a pen...but i was a long way away from it

that said i cant imagine it was a great game to watch pitch didn't help but we are happy to have won its great to win any trophy even more so when its your own and you retain it...

Ill say one thing the standard of football had improved in the town in a year Bunratty look strong as do Hibs i think between the three of us we'll be there or there abouts in our repsective legues.

penalty from were i was standing .. taken out with a shoulder charge when straight through on goal... .. as for retaining trophy .. did bunratty not win wesly webb last year . ye looked the most impressive team in tournament bar your opening game.. best of luck in new season.

If the match was played on a half decent pitch Bunratty would have won , the pitch was shocking its a disgrace expecting players to play on that pitch in this day and age.

All ifs and buts, pitch was terrible for both teams. I thought both teams were fairly even and although not a nice way to decide it, penalties was probably fairest way.

Why do you say that they would have won on a half decent pitch? Both teams had to deal with the surface not being great...

Because Bunratty have better footballers than Shannon Town.
