Presumably under licencing you need a current tax clearance cert to get a licence in either the Premier / 1st / A league?

Would TNB have one at any stage recently that he could have submitted as part of his licence application?

I think Cobh didn't have one when they were relegated (I'm open to correction here), which would imply that you can, in practice at least, play in the A league without one.

I don't think so, not with a winding up order just after going up. A clearance cert would have to be fairly recent for Licensing, and it looks like some tax has been owed for a while.

The 1st of February winding up date and getting adjournments is a red herring.
It's the revenue brining the case, so presumably he can't have a Tax Clearance Certificate.
If he doesn't pay the Revenue off to submit a tax clearance cert to the FAI by January 29th, it's irrelevant and the FAI have to be seen to follow their own rules.

His only out is the Kevin Long money from Burnley that is due if it covers the revenue bill, even then though, if enough creditors join the petition, it's game over for CCIFL.

Cork City will be around for a long long time though, whatever TNB does.

Cork can't afford to pay for their website. Here, look at the monkey. Look at the silly monkey!

More or less a Live Feed:

Delaney is trying to rally supporters against Tom Coughlan, there's interference from outside
Players are confused as to the situation because of Delaney/FAI antics, making his job more difficult
Cork will be thrown out of the league if Delaney gets his way
No competition from other clubs to sign players down in Cork so a great opportunity
Wishes the media and the FAI would let the owner get on with it
Interview with the Mail on Sunday with him today is interesting apparently
A premier League without Cork is a Leinster Senior League
1st division more like an All-Ireland League with a good geographical spread of clubs
10 teams in the premier from Leinster, also Sligo and Galway are in there apparently
Floriana was brilliant, would have loved to stay for three years but they couldn't fulfil agreed financial obligations
Valetta would win the League of Ireland, but overall the league wouldn't be as strong as LoI
Derek O'Brien was due to sign with Floriana but they couldn't afford him, by the way Jordi Cruyff is a gentleman, his dad too.
Moving down to Cork today, Tommy Dunne is picking him up this morning
You HAVE to locate yourself in the area that you are going to work.
Everyone around Cork that he's spoken to is happy that the club is going to move forward
Looking forward to getting started, great opoortunity, having a monopoly with players in Cork region
No-one mentions that he's won a double, Sean Ryan didn't mention him in great Bohs manager list
He'll do a job for Cork City in whatever League.
Aparently the presenter misses Roddy too!

If Cork City fail to secure a licence to operate in the league, their place in the Europa League would then go to Sligo Rovers, whose manager Paul Cook has the Pro Licence.
Why Sligo? does Dundalk manager not have Pro Licence and how the **** does the great Roddy not have his Pro licence and have a job that requires one?

Would be a great way to get in!!Regardless of this pro-licence rule, correct me if im wrong, but the year Shels got relegated didnt Pats get into Europe on the basis of been Cup Finalists even though we had finished ahead of them in the league??

Or was it just the Setanta???!!

I dont think its been offered to the cup runners up on that basis. As Cork may not be about, it will go to Derry, but they have since been kicked out it'll go to the next positioned team in the league which is Dundalk, but we may not get it as Foster is not fully qualified to UEFA standards so it will go to the next placed team, who are Sligo Rovers!

Foster can do a course, it's not grounds for denying Dundalk a place

Ya i understand that but just asking why that particular year(if it happened i cant remember was it jus setanta or the setanta and europe)did Pats get offered that place when we finished ahead if them in the league and the only thing they did that year was finish runners up in the cup??It seems to me pretty much the same situation as when shels went bust??So my points at the end of all this is if Cork did go to the wall would we be ebtitled to it anyway as Cup runners-up??

Well everything else is up to scratch so it must be that, thats holding it up apart from us having to play our home leg in Dublin if applicable! Otherwise if thats not the case then they are offering it to the cup runners up but I would have thought it went down the league table.

The only person to put Sligo ahead of you is the Indo article, it may be incorrect.
    Ring the FAI.
That's enough Dundalk talk on the Cork City thread
