The way the Cork City players' ongoing wages payment problems have been dealt with by McGuinness / the PFAI, shows just how ineffective their so-caled union is.
They're 'in bed' with the FAI given that their offices are just down the corridor from Delaney and Gavin in the FAI HQ in Abbottstown

The case must still go before the court shortly.....

The next hurdle he'll be facing this afternoon will hurt a lot more when the details of the strike notice the players voted on comes out, a few papers picked up on it yesterday and it's been over our own forums since.
It's only a question of time now and whether Tommy can be pushed to one side before he kills the club or whether someone will have to start again from scratch.

Case has been adjourned for one week my source in the court is telling me.
A race against time now, methinks. Cork need to get wound up (or sold) before the season's end so they can have competent people running the club next season, in whatever division.
I find it hard to believe that Laffoy granted an adjournment; unless there were other creditors added to the action late in the day?
Agree with P_Stu, in fact, Coughlan can't get a licence for next season so a Cork City team responsibly run in the A championship next season is infinitely preferable to Coughlan applying for a premier licence for next season

Its true alright, have a mate at the hearing. Reason is that negotiations were unsucessful and Farrelly asked for one more week.
Do FORAS have the plans in place for an AFC Cork City/ FC City of Cork if Coughlan isn't removed? They should be ready to go, with application in with the FAI asap imo.
