I wonder how Uncle Tom is going to come up with the cash to pay compo to Roddy's club? Going to be fun watching this unravel.

According to todays Independant Coughlan has postponed another meeting until Thursday evening/Friday morning and the FAI are going to fine him now for bringing the game into disrepute.

It's just been on the RTE sports news that the future of the club looks uncertain as the players may not get the wages which they are now due.

Will the FAI do all Cork fans a big favour and push this club over the edge.

    Cork's future still uncertain

    Tuesday, 15 December 2009 07:31
Cork City's future in the League of Ireland Premier Division will be decided in the coming week.
The final instalment of unpaid wages is due to the players on Tuesday, but there are reports that they have been told they once again may not receive the money, as the club try to make new agreements with their creditors by Monday.
If the debts aren't paid by Monday, the club are in breach of the licensing agreement and could be thrown out of the league.

NOT for the first time in his controversial career Roddy Collins has upset his employers, although his latest stunt could prove to be his undoing.

The outspoken Dubliner, who made headlines for all the wrong reasons last month when he made a crass joke about wife-beating on RTÉ's Monday Night Soccer, has angered the board of Floriana after flirting with the vacancy at Cork City.

It is believed that Collins met with Cork officials last week to discuss the possibility of taking over at Turner's Cross, although he chose not to tell Floriana and the Maltese club might be ready to end his tenure because of the breach of contract.

If that happens it will be horrible timing for the former Bohemians manager as RTÉ are unlikely to offer him a new deal for MNS in 2010 due to his outburst in the season finale, and not many clubs will be eager to take a gamble on him due to his unpopular status in the League of Ireland.

To rub it in, the Leesiders have already moved on with other managers replacing 48-year-old Collins at the top of their wish list.

That was in the Daily Mail

Was mentioned on 96Fm on the sports news on the drive home from work there that Roddy met Coughlan today and that Coughlan has had his meeting with the FAI deferred as he expects to have a manager in place by the deferred date of Thursday/Friday!

Somehow he is managing to make a bad (understatement I know, but I have run out of other words for the term) PR situation even worse.

Rumour on Cork forum is that the players have been asked to wait until January for their outstanding money. All things considered, a license for TNB appears to be completely out of the question.

Although I wouldn't be in the least surprised if he got one.

If the players, staff and any other creditors are still owed money in January, then a licence must surely be out of the question. How many lives has Coughlan had this year?!

They have to be paid, or have agreements in place on Monday next week. If not a license should not be issued.
