Its gotten more media coverage than you'd think, if you watch the news, you know about it.

Its noticeable because we're looking for it. I read all appers in the morning, and even if mentioned its a small piece on a page with other (apparently more pressing) sports news

I judge things on whether people in work ask me about it (knowing I@m a LOI man). None have yet

Its sad, as it was a UK club there'd be wall to wall stuff

The Independent Club Licensing Committee has deferred its decision on Cork City until after the High Court case comes in for mention on Monday, February 22nd next.

In making its decision, the Independent Club Licensing Committee noted that one of the fundamental principles of club licensing is the protection of creditors such as club employees, other clubs and the Revenue.

The Independent Club Licensing Committee was made aware of a potential takeover which may result in commitments to creditors being honoured. As this takeover is dependent on the outcome of the High Court order, the Independent Committee felt it prudent to await that outcome and give maximum opportunity for creditors to be paid.

The application from FORAS has been deferred pending the outcome of the Cork City decision.
    What a joke

But whats to stop Tom paying back on a directors loan? His own.
He wouldnt even have to pay tax on it.

Paying back a director's loan with a winding up order from Revenue dangling over you? You really think that's never been tried before? And that's assuming that he's actually put money into the club.

Someone can correct this if wrong but directors loans can only be claimed back if the club is in profit. Declarations have to be signed honouring this as part of the audited accounts as far as I know.

Spineless? Short-sighted? Ridiculous? There's no shortage of appropriate words.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

and we wonder why the barstoolers are constantly saying "I'm not going to watch that ****e" when the administrators of our sport deal with things like this...

Dropping to the first division will mean a drop of €70k on our gates, believe me if we are given the chance of Premier football we will be playing in the Premier.

Rovers, Bohs and Pats are Bray's very big money earners, playing them only increases Bray's home crowd no matter how bad we are doing and these clubs always bring fantastic away support to the Carlisle.

I've it from a club official that if offered we will be playing in the Premier.

Plenty of players still out there available who we could bring into the club in time with plenty of experience. Our squad is very young but very capable, add 3/4/5 experienced players and we will compete with any club, we wont win the League obviously but we'll give the likes of Galway, UCD, Drogheda etc a run for their money

Looks to me like a happy ending to a terrible day for us City supporters.

I take it that the week delay means that a Premier License will be granted to the new owners.

Soon enough we will be able to talk about actual football for a change.
Yeah man, they call gambling a disease, but it's the only disease where you can win a bunch of money.

Do you think you deserve a place in the Premier Division?
