Billy Dennehy's contract will be cancelled today by mutual consent.
Quintas have made an offer for the club on behalf of a Cork business man.
Falls short of the €800,000 Tom Coughlan is looking for [ffs ]
FORAS are ready to come on board as "partners" it seems.
Could be a decision by the weekend with Coughlan willing to consider the offer.
Why punish Murray and Murphy in particular? Both have endured 2 seasons of partial and in some instances no wages at all. All they did was speak the truth. I feel City's rumoured budget of 20,000 per month has something to do this and TNB is just looking for any excuse to offload Murray, Murphy, Connor and Dennehy. Notice how he is getting Roddy to to his dirty work for him.

    Highest earners, presumably.

Which you could look at as a sign that TNB is trying to avoid a repeat of 2009...

All would be on the top end of the pay scale at City, I think Dennehy is weighing up options across the water.
I understand City are trying to "cut their cloth to suit" but the players under contract deserve better treatment than this.
I wonder what Stephen Mc Guinness will make of this one.

    Or......

Coughlan asks for an extension to the Winding Up order based on his reviewing an offer that has been placed for the club which would cover the revenue bill.
He gets his extension and tries to drive through to the licensing process, putting the pressure on the FAI to award the licence in the hope that he'll sell up allowing them to fudge the Quintas takeover in the Premier.
He then has a licence, doesn't sell and goes back to the high court with his new 'cloth cutting' budget and offers it as proof that he can generate enough income over the coming months to repay his debts.
He gets the ruling in his favour.

And this thread grows to 200 pages...........

TNB is all about Brinkmanship, nothing would surprise me anymore!

As p_stu said, they'd be among the better earners.
that's if any employee of TNB can be considered to be earning!

And Dennehy I presume. heard shams were in talks with at least three of them a couple of weeks back but would not meet the wage demands.

there is one thing I cant understand

if TNB somehow got a licence etc - who on earth would sign to play for him given his history of payments etc

How do they expect to put a squad together. You would need a serious hole in your head to risk not getting paid.

Rumours that Dave Rogers trained with us today. It seems Barry Ryan was seen around Cork in recent times as well.

So, let's have a look at a possible rumoured state of play........

    Barry Ryan
Greg O'H__Dave Rogers__Willo McDonagh (I know, just fitting him in here)
    Joxer__Georgie__Michael Keane__Ritchie Baker
    Trevor Molloy__Anto Flood

    Manager: Roddy Collins
    Chairman: Tom Coughlan

didnt realise so many line up but

    WHY

what sane person would run the risk - what goes through their mind
Sympathy for last years plaers but wont have any for next seasons players if a similar situation arises (if TNB gets a licence etc)

Only 10 players there. Get Mickey Collins in and you'd have a right team of pure nutters.

Surely it's not just a matter of cancelling player contracts and everything is Hunky-Dory. All of these players are owed sustantial back pay. I've heard that the PFAI is gearing up to take cases to the labour court under legislation like constructive dismissal and non-payment of wages. Between that and the winding-up order the club will not be able to function. Talk of new teams is pie in the sky.
