Justice dept to hold review of gambling

Saw a notice for this in the paper today.

What do people think this will mean for the industry?

If it was anyone else, I'd say sweet feck all. It's Dermot Ahern though, so I'm just waiting for an attempt to ban gambling as offensive to the Catholic spirit of the constitution.

Feck all is right, its more aimed at Casion type operation, they only thing they might do is try and tax off shore companies with operations here.

Actually, it occurs to me that they might attempt to regulate online gambling.

I used to work in the casino business and the law in that area is out of date to the point of being farcical. It says you can only bet 2p at a time or something like that! New laws are certainly required to update things, and as long as they're sensible and don't ignore the fact that you can pretty much gamble as much as you want online and the government can't stop then it'll be a positive thing.
