Most of the Norweigen clubs are full time though! We coudl never have those kind of facilities as the hooligan element associated with every club would destroy them. You couldnt have fans sitting on a tier above other fans as they would be spitting down on top of their own support etc!

As a matter of interest Sandefjord are managed by an Irish guy called Patrick Walker. He's from Carlow and used to play with Bohs.

i dont think that the gaa is as big a factor as people say. if you go back to the 70s when waterford played rovers they were pulling in 20000. the gaa was just a strong back then

Norway's GDP is second in the world (behind Luxembourg) and Ireland is fourth (behind Switzerland). Despite being behind Norway (not by much I must add) we still should have stadia that are even comparable to theirs, however, I don't see any LOI stadium that is a patch on those.

It's obvious the solution to the league's problems is investment. The football is good, the Premier Division is pretty much professional and we've been hugely successful in Europe.

The only thing that is keeping the league back is investment & stadia.

    we boomed, now were bust.
Norway has always had a strong economy for years. They actually manage to have jobs for their inhabitants, imagine that!

Yep. Thats a big part of it. When it comes to soccer and the GAA, there is no doubting which sport benefits the most from government money

Despite the fact that soccer is the number one participant sport in the country.

Another big problem is the fact that the FAI seem more interested in pouring all their money into the national team, and not the LOI.

We will never have stadia like that in Ireland. Other big diif is the fact that the Norwegian stadia are clean!

What a ridiculous post. You think there's a bigger hooligan problem here than in England, Germany, Italy, Holland, etc.?
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Are you for real?? Even the dirtbags supporting Dundalk wouldn't be a patch on the hooligan elements in other countries.

I'd be seriously worried if they did, seeing as Norway is clearly not an island!
