Aisling led 3-0 at HT with there only 3 shots on target (one a deflected free kick), where as Star had at least 5 chances in the first half but failed to score from any.

Aisling then scored a 4th on 60th and as Star had all subs used by 60th min, they had a player taken off injured therefore had to play with 10 men for the last 30mins.

Aisling dominated the 2nd half and went on to score another 2 goals as Star tried to pull a few back,

Overall, Aisling deserved the win, and were worthy winners by far on the day.

Best of luck to them for the rest of the comp.

We'll concentrate on the league now, and with a bit of luck a run in a few of the cups.
    Star Rvs 1-6 Aisling
This was a comprehensive win for Aisling..The game was over as a contest after 10 minutes with goals from Tony Cusack and a 25 yard Ronan Smalle free kick..Star never really got going and could have found themselves 6 down at half time had it not been for poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping..
Derek Hannon missed Star's best chance of the game at a crucial time mid way through the half when he sliced wide from 8 yards out..
Aisling made it three on 35 minutes when Stephen Goggin rounded off an industrious performance with a fine finish as Star's defence were once again cut open.
Star huffed and puffed after the break but never threatened a comeback.. Chance after chance was wasted before Jason Sheahan eventually got his name on the scoresheet.
Sheehan made it five on 70 minutes with the help of a deflection. At this stage, Star's fitness had all but gone , and there cause wasn't helped by losing Thomas Butler to injury - resulting in them being forced to play out the game a man less, as they had used up all their subs.
A rare mix up in the Aisling box resulted in Laurence Enright turning the ball into his own net in the 88th minute.
Aisling made it six in injury time as Alan Morton uncharacteristically put through his own net to complete the rout for the worthy winners.

Dont know what game you were watching coz, for one it was Monty that missed the chance from 8 yards not Hannon,

Aisling only had 3 shots on target in the first half (one of which was a deflected free kick), so how they could have been 6 up at HT is beyond me........

Monty went off injured bang on 60th min (I asked the ref at that point what was left) so to say 70th is also incorrect, and as for an OG???? the ball was crossing the line and it hit my hand going in (hardly an OG, and was never worth handling or trying to save when 5-1 down and already on a yellow card), other than that you got the rest of you report spot on...........

An awful game played for about 20 minutes in the dark twards the end of the first half.

Lisselton had only 5 starters from last years team and had a host of injuries, in saying that they didnt deserve to go thru as they were very poor offensively.
Credit to Tralee Celtic for going thru but 2nd otr 3rd round would have them detined for the exit of this years fai cup
