Could the Corkonians look up the definition of a public forum? I voiced an opinion, which as a registered member on here I'm more than entitled to do. I watched the game as a neutral and stated what I saw. And I certainly don't post up here to be "rated", I've not got an ego problem. And littleman if you've a problem my PM box is always open. There's a difference between humility and the stating of opinion.
To say it was tactically sound to have all 11 players inside your own box for Pike's corners is a bit far fetched you'd have to agree no? From what I saw in my very own opinion, "Springers" were looking for penalties at 1-1(regardless if you dis/agree it's an OPINION) or at the very least slowing the game to crawl speed, keeper slow with kickouts, players hitting the ball away, the usual stuff.
Yes, for a 2A Cork team they did very well, frustrated an average Pike team. And they've to be commended for that at least, I just couldn't see how a team in the last 16 weren't trying to push on and try and take the game. Regardless of division.
And that penalty decision, could have gone either way really, from my viewing it looked as if they collided with each other, both having an eye on the ball. The Pike keeper should never have gone for it in my opinion. On another day that would easily have been given. That's cup football.
And the Springfield sending off was justified, as I've said before the Pike No.5 was booked for a hand ball in the first half, so the Ref had to be consistent, it was a second bookable offense for the player, the player certainly didn't take it well. And to rubbish the bias linesmen claims, Pike were caught offside, according to the stats I recorded, 23 times in the second half.(7 in the first) An amazing stat, that a Linesman could be spot on 23 times in 45mins.
