he's been playing very well for Ipswich by all accounts, him and Arran Lee-Barrett keeping Richard Wright out of the matchday 16 despite his return to fitness.

a save he made last weekend. He really is a top, top keeper - as good as Westwood. If he can improve his kick-outs he'll be Shay's worthy successor.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

SkStu, good reaction save, but the cynic in me says he should have caught rather than punched that ball in the box -- I think Westwood, with his greater height would have made the catch.

And even if punching was the right decision, you need to make sure that ball gets out of bounds. Instead, he made a weak punch that put his team immediately under pressure again.

I've only seen him play a couple of times, and he looks like he has amazing reflexes. Hopefully he continues to play well for Ipswich and give Ireland another top option.

to be honest Razor, i find it hard to find a decent Ipswich messageboard on which to guage their reaction to him but it has to be said that he is mentioned in a lot of match reports as making vital saves and generally playing very well. It seems as if his main problem as a Bohs player (his distribution) is still something that needs working on.

if86, i know what you mean but no keeper makes the right move or the right decision in every game, not even Given , however the mark of a good keeper is to not let those mistakes cost your team a goal and in this regard Murphy did his part with a cracker of a save.

edit: and on watching it again, i would apportion most of the blame on the weak header from the defender following the cross. The defence had 2 chances to clear it after Murphys punch (which was pretty decent)...

Murphy turns down contract offer and leaves Ipswich. Rumoured to be joining QPR as back up to P-Kenn.

article also mentions Colin Healy accepted a new contract offer.

Wow, that is daring. It didn't seem like he'd ever get in ahead of Fulop though, so I guess it's the right move for an ambitious goalkeeper.

Signed for QPR now, could be a good move between him and Paddy Kenny should mean we have at least one regular premiership keeper if Shay doesn't move.

Plus, Westwood might well be getting a game with Sunderland. Given better get a move on...

Signed a new deal at QPR: http://www.extratime.ie/newsdesk/art...w-deal-at-qpr/

With Julio Cesar on his bike, this should put him back as the #2 at QPR. With Rob Green unlikely to leave, you'd reckon he'll be a back-up for the foreseeable future, but hopefully the experience is doing him well. At 30 he's still not terribly old for a goalkeeper.

Wasted at QPR. Cracking goalkeeper, too good to be sitting on the bench. At 30, now is the time he should be looking to move and get first team football.

Dunne gave away a penno and got sent off. QPR one down.

Did anyone see QPR's losses? Their wage bill is higher than Dortmund's! Murphy is probably on a nice deal.

Green got injured on Saturday and Murphy came on. Doubt he'll be able to keep the jersey once Green comes back but another Irish goalkeeper playing at a decent level is handy.

Looking for a loan move after QPR signed Alex McCarthy from Reading to replace him.

He must have a sorer arse than Marsellus Wallace after all the time he spent collecting splinters.
