He could just go up for a corner and do the damage - less obvious than having to play midfield for 90 mins - no?
"Roy Keane has always been a manager known for rotating his players, and throwing the odd surprise selection into his starting lineup, but I've got to say, this is something new for me. I don't think I've ever seen a player signed as a goalkeeper make his debut as a central midfielder in a playoff final at Wembley stadium. Will Keane's gamble pay off? Only time will tell."

I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew
Admittedly the thread has gone off at a pretty surreal tangent(!), but considering we're speculating about what a keeper might do to nobble his rival on the training ground, you might like to reconsider the above suggestion?
I mean to say, even Roy Keane's dog might see through that one...![]()
Even though Sanchez gave him every chance (eg rotating him with the much superior Maik Taylor), Carroll still threw his toys from the pram when required to sit on the bench. Eventually, he said he'd rather not be considered if he wasn't going to start.
This is in keeping with an unprofessional attitude towards his career generally, which has seen him go from 100 games for MU just a few years ago, to playing for Derby Co. Reserves at Alfreton Town last night (attendance 871).
Indeed, it is thought that if Nigel Clough could get someone to take Carroll off his hands, he'd do so, even though their 3rd choice keeper is a certain Saul Deeney...
Don't read The Sun and wasn't aware there was any problem with a simple abbreviation.(I would call them "SRFC", only Sligo fans would object).
Thanks for the info on Carroll
No real problem with the abbreviation and I take it that you don't mean any offence by it, its just that I never saw it used until the Sun started it (btw, just to clarify I buy the Sun on Saturdays for their betting section!)- its just that they were never known as "shams". Abbreviated we'd use "rovers" or "the hoops". Now I know there are manyteams that could be intepreted as "rovers" or even "hoops" for that matter, however the same apllies to Utd, City etc, and I've often seen Man U referred to as Utd, and Man City as "City"

Bohs' Murphy to join Keane at Ipswich at end of season
(backon topic)
if you've never seen Brian Murphy play, go along now and watch him before he leaves Ireland. The guy is sensational, successor to Shay Given without a doubt.
Future Ireland keeper kept a clean sheet tonight vs Dundalk in the cup, and in the shootout scored and then saved a penalty.

"If you don't work harder I'll pull you off at halftime,"
“Crikey, at Manchester City all we get is an orange and a cup of tea,"

Might be irrelevant if Keane is bringing him to Ipswich but suggestions in Wolverhampton are that Big Mick is having Murphy and Deegan watched.
