O’Dowd looking forward to Rogers battle
Drogheda United’s new goalkeeper Tony O’Dowd is eagerly awaiting the beginning of the new eircom League season and a battle royale with Gary Rogers for the number one goalkeeping spot at United Park.
Rogers has been first-choice for the Drogs since signing from Shelbourne in 2001, but that standing is under serious threat for the first time in his tenure on Boyneside with O’Dowd’s arrival from Shamrock Rovers earlier this week.
