Overrated and underrated players

In relation to Kuyt I think that everybody gets what he contributes. Bags of energy and workrate with no real touch or vision. I think it falls upon whether you believe that this is good enough for where Liverpool want to be, personally I don't. He'd be a grand squad player, like Park, but he seems to be undroppable in Benitez's eyes.

Just went through my fav player list (yeah i do keep one - is that sad?!) , here are a few players that I like and I think are underrated. I do seem to like midfield workhorses
Also cant wait to see Zhrikov with Chelsea, he is an awesome player, puts his head down and gets on with the work, and is a great winger
Senna and Iniesta (and Messi) are my fav players at the moment

overrated
Zlaton I - 46 million, surely that cant be right and Eto gone as well. Barca now will def find it harder to get goals this coming season
Kuyt - a donkey, can you see him playing with a team like Arsenal or Barca!!!! That would be funny to see!
Carrick - a real dodgy deal down by Ferguson here me thinks

Ballack. i hate this guy, he pulls out of tackles (re barca game, and Italy game in WC, that can be costly), doesnt boss the midfield but would rather fall down with soft challenges, and scores the odd free kick, and yet he is Chelsea's 3rd highest paid player. take Essien out and Chelsea mid would look bare.

by the way- someone mentioned Inzaghi - he is generally regarded as rubbish and always offside, but you will be hard pushed to get a better box player who can score important goals - or at least did back in the day

Overrated
Glad to see someone else has Totti in this category... I must be missing something but I've never seen him play that well
Gerrard (and I'm a Liverpool sympathiser)
Pele - not as good as Maradona, Puskas....
And from the LoI: Jay O'Shea, Owen Heary, Jo Ndo

Underrated
Premiership: given the hype there's not many, but I always like Rob Green, Bouma, Agger
And from the LoI: Brian Murphy, Tiarnan Mulvenna, Michael Daly, Darragh Maguire

Yeah the guy must have something. Always scored important goals as well as loads more. Hard to spot it sometimes though.

Yeah I know what u are saying but I wonder does this reflect the wage deals they are on? (compared to other players in the same squads?)

totally disagree with pele as overrated .... cannot even understand how many people still underate him the man was an absolute genuis and a legend

Only over-rated in that he's not the God-like deity some (including Pele) would have you believe. It was a tongue-in-cheek post though. He'd get a game for Kildare County

I don't think I've seen Zlatan playing a decent match but to be fair I'm feeding off scraps. I simply refuse to believe he's as bad as he looked the times I've seen him. He must be doing something right and I think we'll all be much more educated after this season when we see him more regularly.
