Colwell reveals retirement option
Shamrock Rovers midfielder Jason Colwell, one of a plethora of Hoops players out of contract since the end of last season, has revealed that he may quit the game if he is not offered a new deal by the cash-strapped Dublin club.
Rovers have already lost Samir Boughanem, Alan Reynolds, Glen Fitzpatrick, James Keddy and Tony O’Dowd from last season, goalkeeper Barry Ryan is suspended until June and several others, including Colwell, Stephen McGuinness, Derek Tracey and Keith Doyle, are currently out of contract and unlikely to be offered new deals until closer to the start of the season.
