I guess if Steau get a guard of honour at the end, it might well be for their protection.
jeeesus what a **** backpass
life is random

The guard on the cart almost hit the linesman.
Best part of the game. Can't drive a feckin cart straight.
What was the name of yer man who scored for Pats?
LESS OF THE BULL NOW!
1-2 Steaua
2-1 Steaua. Beat offside trap.
Surely that should be given as offside when the player received the pass in front of goal?
Missed that, happened between reloads.
I also lost the Pats commentator stream, I think they went to chase away the kids from Rovers.
All over. 1-2.
Well done Pats, great effort, and some real hope for 30 mins or so.
Would have been a deserved bonus on top of all Pat's efforts to get some result from the game.
An extra 0.25 on the co-efficient would have been nice but it's been a good year anyway..
On a happier note, Aston Villa are ten minutes away from going out on away goals..
2nd for Steaua looked like a forward pass to me too.
Thanks to Dunny and Alan(if he's here) for modding the chat.
hard luck Pats...
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
That chatroom made foot.ie look like Freud's sitting room. Thanks to Dunny and Alan(if he's here) for modding the chat.
Hearts heading out as well.
Just while the performance rather than the result is still fresh in the memory, until the 80th minute that was a superb performance against a real European giant. It wasn't surprising Pats tired a bit at the end because they played with almost superhuman effort during most of the match. Like most people on here, I'm thoroughly sick of gutsy defeats, but on this occasion, it should go down as a very good, slightly unlucky performance.
Watching 8/32 sides make their CL debut today, and some of the sides in the EL groups, I'd be more convinced than ever of getting to group stages of the CL or EL, were it not for the unpredictable effect the restructuring that will undoubtedly happen at the before next June will have. That aside, another encouraging year, and the feeling again of two steps forward, and one back continues.
You can be cynical about LOI teams and Europe but it's absolutely phenomenal progress to have our sides go to Salzburg, Sofia and Bucharest and not only expect not to be defeated heavily, but come home disappointed not to get an away goal, and unfazed if we do. I think sometimes we don't even realise the massive strides we've taken.
